Leidos is looking for highly-motivated, first-class Law Clerks III in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area to join a document review team supporting the Litigation Program of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. This position can be fully remote, but will require access to the customer site as needed or as requested. Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position is fully remote, but with a requirement to come into the office as needed (subject to change).

  • Assists attorneys with all phases of criminal litigation, including pretrial discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and appeals.

  • Reviews and analyzes documents, transcripts, files, and other materials to locate information and evidence relevant to investigative actions or responsiveness to grand jury subpoenas.

  • Conducts legal research and analysis regarding privilege issues.

  • Reviews and analyzes documents, transcripts, files, and other materials for privilege.

  • Serves on filter teams to review seized and other materials to identify and assess attorney-client or other privilege issues prior to the release of the documents to case teams.

  • As review projects progress, makes recommendations to attorneys for additional document tagging and coding properties to improve review efficiencies.  May serve in a team leader role.

  • Uses electronic databases to perform litigation support tasks, including reviewing, organizing, indexing, tagging, and summarizing documents, files, and other materials.  Conducts database searches for documents and information.

  • Assists attorneys in preparing for, and conducting, interviews with prospective fact witnesses, investigative sources, and expert witnesses.

  • Identifies privileged documents and reviews and prepares privilege logs.
     

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a law degree.

  • Must have three to five years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys.

  • Experience in electronic document review – particularly experience working in Relativity database or equivalent eDiscovery relational database.

  • Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. 

  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. 

  • Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. 

  • Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.

  • Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Public Trust Clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Requires a reliable, high-speed Internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications:

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit. Leidos will ensure that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits. The pay for this position will be $42.76/hr for Washington, D.C.
