Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Government Affairs Manager to join our team in Washington, D.C. This position supports the Government Affairs function and is responsible for developing and maintaining close working relationships with Members of Congress, staff, and committees; analyzing and monitoring key federal legislation; drafting position papers, legislative summaries, and correspondence; and effectively executing advocacy strategies for Leidos priorities on Capitol Hill. As part of an experienced team, the position reports to the Vice President of Government Affairs and primarily supports Leidos lines of business in non-defense sectors.

Responsibilities:
Build strong and effective relationships with key Congressional Members and staff, coalitions, and allied organizations.
Uphold a reputation as a trusted, credible source of information among stakeholders, congressional members and staff, and other key stakeholders.
Monitor and maintain information on legislation, policy, and lobbying efforts, as well as provide in-depth legislative and budget analysis.
Assist in drafting and implementing strategies to achieve Leidos’ goals on legislative and policy initiatives.
Work collaboratively with Leidos lines of business to develop and maintain internal partnerships, and provide proactive legislative insight and support.
Support a range of issues to include areas such as homeland security, energy, environment, transportation, and space.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field.
8+ years of relevant experience, of which the majority should directly involve legislative and/or lobbying experience.
Command of legislative processes, especially the federal budget and appropriations processes.
Strong social and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships with elected officials, trade associations, and industry partners.
Strong verbal and excellent written communication skills; research skills.
Highly proactive, entrepreneurial, and able to develop successful solutions.
Organized and self-motivated, strong management skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively at all levels, and to engage comfortably with senior executives.
Proximity to the D.C. area.
Skilled in MS Windows, Word, and PowerPoint required.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
