The NISC IV program at Leidos is looking for a Cost Estimator!
Leidos is currently seeking a motivated, results oriented and motivated self-starter with a business improvement background to join the NISC team as a Cost Estimator in support of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Power Services Group (PSG) which include the following programs: Fuel Storage Tanks (FST), Engine Generators (EG), Battery Systems, Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) and Environmental Remote Monitoring Systems (ERMS).

Primary Responsibilities:

Day to day assignments to include, but not limited to:
  • Provide expertise to conduct research, evaluations, and studies.
  • Participate in post implementation analysis to include the research and recovery of project actual values.
  • Participate in complex studies to support the statistical analysis of cost estimates, and cost/benefit studies.
  • Support the development of cost estimates, from needs evaluation of budget formulation and approval for funding request, for proposed changes to the National Airspace System.
  • Investigating new tools and technologies to improve core competency within the Cost Estimating group – as needed.
  • Present recommendations/solutions related to short and long-term program planning.
  • Provide support to the Team by keeping track of incoming workload, updating the progress of the workload, and providing weekly and monthly status reports including charts and graphs.
  • Provide planning, scheduling, networking, and coordination assistance among all regional and headquarters’ efforts and related monitoring/tracking programs.
  • Classify and summarize data for the preparation and submission of reports on a recurring basis.
  • Provide assistance and recommendations to FAA managers and staff who directly affect the conduct and attainment of agency goals.
  • Ability to revise and adjust priorities as workload fluctuates.
Required Qualifications:
  • BA degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience OR Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be accepted/considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to present ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to use MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance.
  • Good with verbal and written communication.
  • Analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to use RS Means.
  • Evaluate specifications, drawings and/or blueprints.
  • Calculate production cost and labor.
  • Gather and analyze data and provide realistic estimates to ensure a project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Previous experience as a cost estimator associated with mechanical and electrical based projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with the FAA.
  • Experience with creating Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
  • Knowledge of Fuel Systems and Emergency Engine Generator Power Systems.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
