Job Description:

The Aerospace, Defense, and Civil Operation within the Leidos Dynetics Group has an opening for Aerospace, Defense, and Civil Operation Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Position Summary:  
The CTO will be responsible for overall technical excellence to include technical solutions for priority captures, internal research and development (IR&D) projects, and technical performance on major programs.  Additionally, the CTO will: 
 •Be the chief collaborator for all technical matters within the Operation and to any organization within Leidos,
 •Partner with the Chief Engineers to ensure winning and discriminating technical solutions and plans, and to ensure flawless execution,
 •Actively participate in the definition and implementation of the long-term technology strategy aligned to the Operation, Group, and Corporate technology strategies,
 •Closely partner with Operation management to ensure the Operation’s technology strategy is aligned with the organization's strategic plan and is reflected in the business development plans,
 •Partner and collaborate with business leadership on potential solutions to problems,
 •Meet with current and potential customers to demonstrate the company's credentials at solving problems with technically-sound solutions.  
 •Be a leading participant in the Capture Process to include writing and reviewing proposal material,
 •Seek partnerships within the Company and with strategic suppliers, renowned universities, and research institutions to increase learning opportunities, sponsor research projects that take Aerospace, Defense, and Civil Operation solutions to the next level, and where possible, showcase developing technology both internally and externally, and 
 •Be responsible for attracting, developing, mentoring, inspiring, and managing  mid to senior level technical staff.

Basic Qualifications:
•Master’s degree or Ph.D. in an Engineering or Technical Discipline relevant to the Aerospace and Defense industry, and be a recognized expert
•Prior technical roles within similar organizations with growing duties and responsibilities
•10-15 years of related government/government contracting experience
•Large acquisition program experience
•Aerospace, Defense, and Civil domain experience with a preference for experience across a variety of the technical areas below:
 •Hypersonic weapon systems and architectures, 
 •Tactical Weapons, 
 •Missiles and Aviation systems, 
 •Autonomy, artificial intelligence, and machine learning,
 •Space systems technologies, 
 •Sensors, platforms, and signal processing, 
 •Advanced materials and structures,
 •Intelligence-oriented defensive and offensive cybersecurity, cyber physical systems, and electronic warfare, and
 •Enterprise information technology
•Experience with performance management and best practices in the Defense industry
•Strong oral and written communication skills, along with public speaking skills
•Ability to influence and persuade others, as well as handle difficult negotiations requiring a well-developed sense of strategy
•Ability to attract, mentor, lead, and promote talent
•Significant experience supporting capture activities to include chairing/participating in Gate Reviews, writing specific sections of proposals, and providing technical guidance for solutions
•Must have a Secret security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance
•~25% travel required

Pay Range:

Pay Range $213,750.00 - $285,000.00 - $356,250.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
