Job Description:
The Leidos Spatial Solutions Division has an opening for an experienced System Administrator to work on cloud-based systems and on-prem servers. The team is involved in operations and sustainment of multiple operational cloud deployed Aeronautical solutions and servers. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of software and hardware upgrades.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee system changes and improvements.
- Review Security audits and schedule applicable patching with the production team and Government liaisons.
- Troubleshoot installation issues, patching logs, and other scenarios that impacts daily production activities.
- Proactively monitor all operational systems and perform health checks and metric reports on usage, and system analysis trends.
- Deploy security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments.
- Manage database backups and storage requirements.
- Author and update operational and security documentation including troubleshooting guides and SOPs. Lead program's Multi-cloud DevOps capability spanning AWS cloud environments, cloud migration efforts, and modernization of globally used applications including the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline.
- We encourage Sys Admin candidates to also highlight Development and Database experience.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI Clearance w/ CI Poly (or ability to pass CI Poly upon hire)
- DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)
- Typically requires BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in AWS/Cloud technologies
- Must have experience with Microsoft Windows Server
- Must have experience with Red Hat Linux Server
- Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
- Windows and Linux administration
- Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.
- Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RHEL
- Experience with system automation and deployments
- Understanding of RDS and SQL Technology
- AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Certification(s)
- Experience with IC Cloud Architecture implementation methodologies
- Team Collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat)
- Familiar with cross domain architectures at various levels
- Experience with automated testing and monitoring
- Team Collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
Pay Range:
Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
