Job Description:
We are in search of an experienced Systems Administrator supporting programs within MS&T division located in Orlando “The City Beautiful,” Florida. The candidate will guide the definition, implementation, and delivery of capability of programs within the division. The selected candidate will leverage their skills to provide engineering support of physical, virtualized and cloud-based computing environments.
The Systems Administrator will provide support on classified and sensitive information environments which are technically complex, have little government provided documentation and limited OEM documentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations, and servers.
- Coordinates, directs, and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
- Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Plans and implements the modernization of servers.
- Develops, implements, and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules.
- Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field with at least two (2) years of experience performing systems administration activities in a professional capacity. Years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server Update Servers (WSUS), Splunk, Security Technical implementation Guides (STIGs), Powershell.
- Experience with Linux, AWS and Azure.
- Experience managing and maintaining PC, server, laptop, and printer hardware.
- Experience maintaining and configuring local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
- Experience with Enterprise Virtualization (VMWare). NSX-T a plus.
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple priorities along with a strong work ethic required.
- Self-starter that can work independently while possessing the communication skills to work effectively with engineering teams, customers, and senior leadership.
- Ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.
- Active Security+ CE required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNA or CISSP is highly desired.
- AWS certification.
- Experience with virtual desktop brokers, such as VMWare View
- Experience with Windows software packaging and deployment automation.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $54,600.00 - $84,000.00 - $113,400.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
