The Leidos Intelligence Group has multiple part-time (3-20 hours/week) openings for experienced and fully cleared Group Exercise Instructors seeking a rewarding opportunity supporting a Federal Intelligence Community customer. Instructors will lead Group Exercise classes as part of an occupational health and wellness program, with classes being held Monday through Friday at a variety of times and locations throughout the Northern Virginia region (inside and outside the beltway). Work hours are flexible, classes are held in the early morning, during normal business hours, and at the end of the day so that participating Federal employees have a variety of choices.
Candidates must possess at least a current Secret security clearance and must be willing to attain and/or maintain their clearance at TS/SCI with polygraph level.
Primary Responsibilities
The Group Exercise Instructor provides a variety of teaching and motivational styles to facilitate personnel achievement of fitness objectives. He/she will design, lead, and facilitate group exercise classes at Federal buildings within the Northern Virginia region. This includes but is not limited to:
Developing and instructing group exercise classes in formats consistent with industry trends and as approved by the program Chief,
Preparing exercise room prior to the start of each class,
Observing and teaching proper body mechanics,
Encouraging participants to enhance their knowledge of exercise, body alignment, and exercise safety,
Recording participant attendance at each class,
Overseeing class at all times to ensure a safe environment for all,
Providing substitution as needed for other instructors as needed
Other duties as needed within the position’s scope
Basic Qualifications
Current, active Secret (or higher) security clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree in an Exercise Science with an accompanying 3+ years of practical experience, or a High School Diploma (or GED) with an accompanying 10+ years of practical experience.
Active certification from one of the following:
American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or another equivalent Group Fitness certification from a nationally-recognized credentialing authority.
Active certification to teach specialty group exercise classes in one or more of the following disciplines: Yoga, Indoor Cycle, HIIT, Zumba, Muay Tai, Brazilian Jiu Jitzu, Krav Maga or other martial arts-based fitness classes.
Active Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Multiple discipline certifications
Pay Range:
Pay Range $59,150.00 - $91,000.00 - $122,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
