Foundation for Success (Basic Qualifications):
This experience is the foundation a candidate needs to be successful in this position:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field in addition to +2 – 4 years of hands-on experience
- 5-7+ years of experience with Open Source (Community Edition) PostgreSQL
- 4+ years of experience in Relational Database Administration/Management
- Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux
- Excellent communication skills

- Excellent ability to communicate with team and customer regarding activities supported
- Knowledge of automated methods and best practices for installation and configuration of PostgreSQL
- Strong knowledge of the PostgreSQL architecture

- PostgreSQL database operational support skills for educating application development and testing users
- Experience with monitoring tools and tuning procedures, as well as, cackup and recovery procedures
- Skills in maintenance tools and procedures
- Experience with GIT or other source control tools
- Experience with shell scripting

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:
- Demonstrated DEVOPS experience a plus
- 2 years of experience using Python
- Proven experience using Ansible
- PostgreSQL Open-Source Database Administrator experience

The PostgreSQL Database Engineer has subject matter expertise and experience functioning as a PostgreSQL database infrastructure engineer using Open Source (Community Edition) PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will support our customer by providing design, build, configuration, test, update, documentation, implementation, operational support, and upgrades for PostgreSQL Open Source (Community Edition). The candidate shall demonstrate extensive knowledge in PostgreSQL Linux infrastructure administration and best practices. The candidate shall demonstrate knowledge of cloud solutions and services in a hybrid cloud environment. The candidate must be self-motivated, be able to collaborate in a team environment, and show initiative to support and promote solutions that enhance the modern development environment.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in a training-related field or Master’s degree and 2+ years of experience in a training-related field

Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
