Leidos has a career opening for a VP, CTO C4ISR Portfolio, C4ISR Solutions Operation located at Leidos Headquarters, Reston VA.
Position Summary
The Operation CTO will be responsible for leading the ideation and development of innovative and differentiating technical and engineering solutions that support the Operation’s business strategy for Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and C4ISR solutions including mission critical Command and Control (C2) software solutions, war-fighting and intelligence networks and IT solutions, training and simulation solutions, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) data processing, sensor management and optimization, and C2 solutions. The CTO will collaborate with all Operation line managers and business development & strategy leaders to drive solutions into priority captures, proposals, and major programs. The CTO will proactively establish relationships and meet with current and potential customers to demonstrate the company's credentials at solving problems with technically differentiated solutions. The CTO will lead the development of the operation’s annual internal research and development (IR&D) portfolio and provide guidance to and management oversight of all IR&D projects. The CTO will actively participate in the definition and implementation of the long-term technology strategy aligned to the Operation, Group, and corporate technology strategy and goals.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Operation CTO include closely partnering with Operation management to ensure the operation’s technology strategy is aligned with the organization's strategic plan and is reflected in the business development plans. CTO will consult with business leadership on potential solutions to customer requirements. The CTO will also be an active participant in the Capture Process to include writing and reviewing proposal material and coaching solution architects on bringing differentiated solutions to capture efforts including early customer engagements. The Operation CTO will seek partnerships with strategic suppliers, renowned universities, and research institutions to increase learning opportunities, sponsor research projects that take the C4ISR Solutions Operation solutions to the next level and, where possible, showcase developing technology both internally and externally. The CTO will establish relationships with counterparts throughout Leidos and serve as the operation’s chief technical collaborator with other Leidos organizations. The Operation CTO will be responsible for the development and mentoring of a set of mid to senior level technical staff.
Basic Qualifications
•Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a Technology, Engineering or Software field, and be a recognized technology leader (or equivalent experience)
•Minimum of 10 years in complex, mission critical software solutions
•Experience providing technical leadership to large scale proposals and captures for Defense programs.
•Domain expertise in Command and Control (C2) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) data processing and software solutions for the Department of Defense (DOD)
•Experience with DOD systems engineering, Information assurance, and modern software development capabilities such as DevSecOps, Data Mesh, Infrastructure as code, container management, and cloud
•Experience with JADC2 and MDO challenges such as data sharing in a multi-level security environment, federated command and control, and resiliency challenges such as DDIL
•Secret Clearance (Top Secret Clearance preferred) and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
•25% Travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
•Prior technical roles within organizations of similar size and scope ($600M and 1000 employees) with growing duties and responsibilities
•Large scale weapons system Program of Record (POR) software experience such as AEGIS, BMC3, DCGS, CMCC, etc
•Large acquisition program experience ($500M+)
•Significant experience supporting capture activities to include chairing/participating in Business Opportunity Gate Reviews, writing specific sections of proposals, providing preliminary technical guidance for solutions, and task cost estimation.
•Experience with performance management and best practices in the Aerospace & Defense industry
•A well-developed sense of strategy and the ability to communicate and inspire others to follow.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $213,750.00 - $285,000.00 - $356,250.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
