Leidos has a career opening for a Facility Security Officer (FSO), located in Lorton, VA.
Leidos is looking to hire a Facility Security Officer (FSO), for multiple cage codes, to provide direct support to federal agencies committed to protecting our national borders, air travel, classified and unclassified networks, secure mobile units, and our most critical national infrastructure. The incumbent will serve as a member of the security team and will directly interface with both the programs and federal agencies as they partner to develop innovative solutions and deliver cutting-edge technology to strengthen our national security and counter emerging threats to our homeland security. Specifically, the incumbent will help ensure our personnel, infrastructure and most sensitive information is protected from our adversaries looking to acquire our technology or infiltrate our Public Trust and National Security positions across government.
The FSO will support multiple federal customers through Personnel Security Processing actions including onboarding of new hires as well as required maintenance for current personnel on contract. The incumbent will assist candidates through the security lifecycle in support of several customers to include DHS, Defense programs and surge support to FBI, CBP and DOJ, as needed. The position is located in the Leidos Office in Lorton, VA with surge support to neighboring offices (25-mile radius), as needed. The candidate will need to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
The FSO is responsible for implementing the industrial security program and ensuring company and customer security requirements are met. Specifically:
•Conduct FSO duties in the following areas: process of Prime and Sub DD254s; escorting uncleared personnel/visitors; maintain facility checklists; conduct routine inspections; maintain databases; respond to emerging security-related issues; process outgoing visit requests and validate incoming visit requests; maintenance and accreditation upkeep of multiple sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs), etc.
•Conduct Personnel Security processing actions including requesting, reviewing, approving, and submitting Entry on Duty (EOD) packages up to and including SCI nomination packages in accordance with customer requirements.
•Maintain Personnel Security databases to track new employee security clearance actions and annual security training completion status.
•Conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements.
•Coordinate within Leidos with security professionals, program managers, capture managers, counterintelligence investigators.
•Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as government customers, oversight authorities (e.g., DCSA, NSA/COR), SCIF accreditation inspectors, etc.
•Document compliance activities in accordance with the governing authority approved authorization package.
•Update and maintain facility check lists, as needed.
•Use centralized services and databases to record clearances, incident reports, movement of personnel, visit requests, etc. to inform the collection of robust performance metrics and location of personnel around the globe.
•Ensure cleared personnel are completing and maintaining required security education and training.
•Ensure proper protection and corrective measures are taken when an incident or vulnerability is discovered.
•Conduct customer required inspections of SCIFs, upload results to customer databases.
•BA/BS degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or master’s degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
•Through working knowledge of the NISPOM, other relevant DoD security guidance as well as the Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) standards
•Self-starter with ability to work independently, customer service orientated.

•Ability to interpret company and government security policies and apply them to program operations.
•Strong understanding of Physical Security requirements for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), collateral Closed Areas, and Restricted Areas. Along with working knowledge of SF-86, SF-312, DD-254, SF700, SF702 and other required forms.
•Thorough understanding of security databases
•Experience creating and conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings and refresher briefings, as appropriate.
•Ability to develop and establish an effective security awareness, training, and education program. Assist in executing the requirements set forth in the Technology Control Plan (TCP) for foreign visitors.
•Communicates with parties within and outside of own area, which may include external constituents depending upon the area. Requires ability to influence others outside of own area on policies, practices, and procedures.
Assist with Proposal Writing and Contract Closeouts.
•Candidates must possess an active Top Secret clearance and be able to meet eligibility requirements for SCI access.
•Extensive experience with classified and unclassified networks and facility clearance requirements.
•Demonstratable experience communicating information security and risk-related concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and demonstrate poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.
•Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are a must.
•Ability to work independently and as a team player.
•Must be able to work in a constantly changing regulatory environment with short-, mid-, and long-term timelines for remediating any non-compliance.
•Must be highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Must be able to proofread for accuracy, completeness, grammar, and format.
•Ability to enter data efficiently, timely, and correctly to meet deadlines.
•Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
•Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
•Good planning and organizational skills.
•Prior experience in Personnel and Industrial Security.
•COMSEC Custodian certificate or experience
•Prior experience as a Facility Security Officer
•FSO training certificate
•Industrial Security Professional (ISP) Certification or Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
•Courier preparation procedures
•Experience developing and implementing OPSEC plans.
•Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems
•Experience conducting Security incident inquiries.
Pay Range:Pay Range $59,150.00 - $91,000.00 - $122,850.00
