US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice to the Government on matters relating to delivery and access to services through innovative, approved network engineering processes.
    Provide Network engineering support for installations, maintenance and Navy integration projects.

  • Act as technical site lead for Navy integration, troubleshooting and maintenance of desktop and network equipment, transport, Navy Cyber/Information Assurance compliance, processes and technical documentation submissions IAW applicable Navy processes.

  • Provide direct support to other sites as directed by the C2F N6.

  • Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.

  • Configures communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other applicable devices.

  • Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.

  • Analyzes network topologies, traffic, and capacity requirements and provides recommendations for systems improvements.

  • Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

  • May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.

  • May perform network administration duties.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Installs, tests, and troubleshoots both land based network equipment as well as fly away kits.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience.

  • Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
    Bachelor’s degree – may substitute additional years of experience.

  • Must possess a current CompTIA Security+ CE certification.

  • Must possess a completed CCNA certification and must complete a CCNP certification within   months of hire.

  • Must meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.

  • Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.)

  • Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features
    Ability to configure and troubleshoot Multicast, DMVPN and GRE tunnels

  • Must be team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, VDI environments, and related network hardware and software.

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.

  • Strong experience with hardware encryption (e.g. KG-175/KG-250) required and software encryption

  • Highly organized with strong ability to prioritize work and work autonomously

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Great attention to detail and presentation
    Results driven, highly efficient, energetic, and highly motivated
    Must possess a high degree of intelligence, competence, maturity, adaptability, resilience, integrity, and initiative

  • The work is typically performed at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed CCNP Routing and Switching or CCNP Enterprise

  • Knowledge and experience with VoIP/collaboration systems

  • Knowledge and experience with HAIPE-based encryption devices

  • Knowledge of Virtualization technologies

  • Knowledge and experience with data center networking

  • Experience with firewalls and firewall rule sets

  • Understanding of network virtualization

  • Understanding of concepts presented in the VMware Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals course

  • Understanding of VxRail Manager and best practices

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
