Leidos is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to perform as one of the primary resources in the development and integration of cross domain security solutions and other security technologies in a small team environment. Ideal candidate will be strong team player and individual who can lead in technical tasks. Mentor/Direct team members on identification, prioritization and innovation in executing task orders. Able to advise in Agile scrum planning by identifying, breakdown tasks to features, user stories estimate’s. Help O&M when needed in production by working closely with network and sysadmin teams to identify/troubleshoot data flows and web service-related data issues in REST/SOAP/WSDL settings including connection issues, other errors with the help of log files. Improve the development and production environment efficiencies by introducing new technologies, process and procedures. Participate with hands on in selecting, configuring, upgrading proper software/tools as needed in day-to-day development and production environment.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS: 
•Bachelor's degree and 12 to 15 years of prior relevant experience OR Master's degree with 10 to 13 years of prior relevant experience.
•Proficiency with Java and Web application development
•Proficiency and use of scripting languages (Shell, Bash, PowerShell, PERL, Python) 
•Working knowledge and development experience in a Linux environment (Redhat and CENTOS). 
•Demonstrated ability to plan, design, develop, test, implement, integrate, and troubleshoot applications (small to medium size development), under minimal direction, in a Linux and Windows environment. 
•Use of standard project management techniques that includes Agile and standard project management methodologies 
•Securing development/production environments by generating keys use them to connect servers for authentication/authorization
•Knowledge or use of various security products, security architecture, security assessment tools, and information assurance standards. 
•Experience with Apache web server configuration and performance tuning.

Communications & Management Skills: 
oPossess superior oral and written communication skills to make team members aware of issues and ideas to stake holders
oExperience creating operating instructions and technical engineering documents 
oAbility to document program and data flow operation including creation of flow diagrams
oAbility to work closely with customers and management to track progress on proactive problem solving and tracking progress
 
DESIRED SKILLS:    
•Prior experience in NiFi data flow design and development OR experience with similar ETL tools
•Familiarity with web services (SOAP/REST), troubleshooting data flows
•Proficiency with XML/JSON
•Experience with web front-end development skills: HTML/JS/TypeScript/Reacts/Angular to develop solution
•Experience/Aware of Cloud computing environment, Elastic Search, ELK stack
•Migrate VMWare technologies to Docker/Containerization
•Willing to support existing technologies in a collaborative environment
•Data Guard products , IBM Data Power, Security Scanners, Splunk data aggregation/analysis tools         
•Work with Sysadmin, Network Admin, Testing teams as needed to resolve dev/prod issues:
•System integration experience in physical/virtual servers with routers and firewalls in current data center environments. 
•Forcepoint: Trusted Gateway System (TGS), Trusted Thin Client (TTC), WebShield, and High Speed Guard (HSG)  
•Lockheed Martin: Radiant Mercury Guard (RMG) 
•System integration experience in physical/virtual servers with routers and firewalls in current data center environments. 
•Integrating with typical IT support infrastructure services: LDAP, Active Directory, log archive 
•Knowledge or use of various security products, security architecture, security assessment tools, and information assurance standards. 
•Experience with Apache web server configuration and performance tuning. 

•Networks: 
oFamiliarity with Network Security, Routers, and Switches and how it relates to the data flows.
 
Security Requirements: 
•Security Clearance TS (Ability to obtain SCI with a CI Poly) 
•Clearance Required Prior to Start:  Final Top Secret 

Pay Range:

Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00
