Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator specifically providing Applications Administration in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located at Ft Meade, MD. DISA acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD), and national security organizations. The candidate will be a part of a team comprised of senior technical experts managing Tier III support for a major DISA program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage multiple applications in a lab environment running on Windows, Linux and Solaris servers
Lead the onboarding, standup, and sustainment of existing and new applications.
Directly report to Tier III technical lead on all technical needs
Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages.
Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times.
Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.
Lead the onboarding, standup, and sustainment of existing and new applications.
Interacts with Tier II support and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff.
Team will support M-F business hours schedule, also responsible for occasional on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission emergencies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and/or 15+ years of overall related experience Application Administration. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server experience with an expertise in at least one.
Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices
Extensive understanding of DoD security requirement and application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
Understand networking operations supporting Lab environments
Currently possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret is required for this position.
Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.
Experience with a ticketing system such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, ITSM+, etc…

Pay Range:
Pay Range $105,300.00 - $162,000.00 - $218,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
