Leidos has an immediate need for a Field Services Technician to support the AEGIS contract at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Al. This position will primarily be supporting Inside and Outside Cable Plant. Duties include installing ,relocating ,removing, testing, and repairing various types of these services in support of daily tasks. Operate test equipment to diagnose and repair during troubleshooting for prompt Incident resolution. Perform tasks of installing and terminating cables under flooring, above ceilings, and confined spaces such as manholes along with labeling and testing in support of Engineered network infrastructure work packages. Will be responsible for performing a diverse range of day to day technical and administrative functions in support of IT services. On call support is required.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of Basic and Industrial Electricity for proper electrical connections of hardware {primarily UPS devices}
Knowledge of Public Address Systems .
Knowledge and experience supporting Wired and Wireless LAN network technologies and fundamentals.
Knowledge and experience on network hardware and category 5e and 6 wiring standards and associated test equipment.
Knowledge of Fiber Optics
Knowledge of cable standards and procedures to include pair/binder color code identification.
Must be capable of operating support equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently.
Must be capable of establishing and working in a productive team environment.
Must have ability to communicate efficiently.
