Leidos has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Systems Administrator to work independently with minimal supervision providing systems administration for the Infrastructure and Deactivation & Remediation contractors at the DOE Portsmouth (Piketon, Ohio) site. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of VMware products including Horizon View, vCenter, and vSphere among others.
Responsibilities include:
- Assists in System Administration of primary VMware and Microsoft platforms across the site, among other technologies
- Manage and support various components of the technical infrastructure including Active Directory, system updates and patching, technical changes and administration of various IT systems.
- Provide support to End User support and other staff in resolution of more complex issues related to software tools, applications, databases, and system access.
- Analyze and resolve hardware and software problems for end users, with primary emphasis on server-related issues.
- Provide troubleshooting support for IT staff.
- Support Cyber Security compliance and audit preparation in coordination with the Cyber Security Team.
- Consults with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into both operational and project objectives.
- Remain conversant with the industry’s computer security technology and practices with technical skills and applicable experience with related technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience in the following areas -
- VMWare Horizon View, vCenter, vSphere;
- In-depth knowledge of operating systems with emphasis on Windows Server 2016 and 2019, Windows 10, and Linux
- Experience and knowledge Cloud computing skills
- Familiarity with configuring and maintaining infrastructure hardware including dell blade servers and iSCSI storage.
- Knowledge of and conversant in network architecture
- Microsoft SCCM, System Center Suite and Patch Management, O365, Active Directory; DNS, DHCP; Microsoft Certificate Authority, SSL certificates, KMS licensing
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Consults with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into both operational and project objectives.
- Remain conversant with the industry’s computer security technology and practices with technical skills and applicable experience with related technologies.
- Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited university with an emphasis in computer science with 5 years of direct applicable experience in the areas listed above or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- DOE site experience
- Active DOE Q clearance
- Related industry-recognized certifications MCP, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, Network+ and/or VMware preferred.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
