Leidos is looking for a Deputy Operations Manager to support a large DoD customer. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience and provide support to the Department of Defense’s mission. This position will be part of mission operations and will be operating in a fast paced environment. The candidate should be well versed in infrastructure operations and will be responsible for overseeing the investigation and resolution of problems for systems. The Deputy Operations Manager will work with the Operations Manager, Program Manager (PM) and Deputy PM to evaluate alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. The candidate will: Influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results; Recommend and develop new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of function’s strategy and operations; and lead and manage work efforts of other technical staff that has significant impact on project results/outputs. The ideal candidate will have the experience resolving highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. They will develop solutions that are highly innovative, and achieved through research and integration of best practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee work effort of a diverse team of IT System Administrators supporting core systems/services impacting enterprise operations
• Coordinate response to service outages, track restoration efforts, and keep stakeholders informed
• Collaborate with peers in Engineering and Cyber Security to resolve issues impacting operations
• Develop and implement policies necessary to ensure subordinate Team Leads are following best business practices in the support of a large, multi-enclave, enterprise environment
• Manage projects internal to infrastructure operations and oversee outside projects to ensure seamless transitions between design/development and O&M
• Monitor system availability, conduct analysis of incidents, and provide data to leadership on a weekly and monthly basis to explain impact on customers, systems, and security.
• Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to demonstrate to the customer the work effort and value provided by individual teams
• Review O&M documentation, provide insights to Team Leads, and ensure all staff are operating from the same documentation
• Oversee training plans/efforts; develop methodology to train new employee and standardize training for existing employees
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience interacting with, and briefing, military and government civilian leadership.
• Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) IT standards and best practices.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and providing recommendations to minimize future risk to the environment
• Experience with supporting physical and virtual server environments.
• Time management skills and the ability to shift focus between major topics at a moment’s notice.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Track record of effectively managing a large, diverse, team of IT professionals
• Experience working with teams to improve existing processes and procedures.
• Experience managing projects spanning the service lifecycle (implementation, upgrade, refresh, and decommission)
• Experience with IT Service Management methodology
• Experience with the Department of Defense Architectural Framework (DoDAF) and its relevance to standardizing documentation
• Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Familiarity with incident/change management ticketing systems such as Service Now.

• Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP).
Education & Years of Experience:
• Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, Associate's with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
** US Citizenship is required.
** TS/SCI with Poly is required for this position or TS/SCI and willingness to get a Poly.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced Degree in a technical domain
• ITIL Certification
Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
