Leidos has an opening for a Systems Security Engineer that will be a member of a leading edge, dynamic technical program. The program is a small development program in Washington DC with Agile Development and cloud implementation. This development program is a workflow tool to engage linguists for the Intelligence Community.
The Systems Security Engineer will serve as the Information System Security Officer and Engineer (ISSO/ISSE) and ensures security controls are in place and operational, supports the execution of scans and security related tests and manages security logs. The Systems Security Engineer ensures that all required security patches are applied and all application components are updated. This position requires coordination with the government and other security organizations as required based on the hosting configurations. The Systems Security Engineer will also support the achievement of certification and accreditation (C&A) for multiple systems and all future recertification.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Support Achievement of Authority to Test (ATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO)
•Develop Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) documentation
•Identify security control requirements
•Maintain system security configuration
•Plan code scanning to identify vulnerabilities
•Manage and review security logs and taking required actions
•Provide technical direction and guidance to software developers and systems administrators for security related development and engineering tasks
•Lead FISMA compliance
•Formulate and develop security related documentation
Basic Qualifications:
•BS/BA Degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters Degree with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience (in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, System Administration, Cyber Security)
•CISSP Certification
•Cleared at the Top Secret level with the ability to pass a CI polygraph
•Five or more years of information assurance and cyber security engineering experience
•Strong communication skills
•Can work independently of direct supervision
•Ability to build strong customer relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
•Experience with migration and operation of systems to an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment
•A professional background in Systems Engineering / Cloud Architecture / Software Development
•Experience with Cloud Computing Technologies/Amazon Web Services (AWS)
•Experience with Agile Software Development
•Experience with Oracle Databases
•Security+ Certification
•AWS Certification
•SAFe Scaled Agilist Certification
Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
