We are in search of a CAD Drafter to join our diverse and dynamic organization out of our Chicago office.
This role is hybrid, working 3 days/week in the Chicago office and 2 days/week remote.
As a core team member of our Substation Section, you will be interacting with an established group of engineers, designers and drafters, playing a valuable part in executing drafting of accurate drawing packages for utility power delivery projects, using MicroStation and AutoCAD.

What you will bring to the table:
- HS diploma or drafting certificate
- Level 1: Less than 1 year of drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation. Coursework and project work will be considered.
- Level 2: 3+ years of drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Coursework and project work will be considered.
- Proficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.
- Skilled with file sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, Fusion, Meridian, Autodesk Vault, Workfront etc
- Highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented.
- Ability to perform tasks in a fast paced engineering/production environment.
It would be nice if you had:
- AS degree in Drafting and Design degree from an accredited institution
- Skilled with protection and control and substation physical drawings for electric utility transmission projects
- The ability to comprehend and implement a wide range of client CAD standards.
- Familiarity with 3-D modelling in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and/or Inventor.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
- Knowledge of VBA and/or AutoLisp.
- QA/QC of drawings produced by the drafting team.
- Command of creating process improvement policies, tools, and client specific CAD guides for drafting and engineering teams.
- Knowledge of Doc Control, Drawing Records Management, Preliminary and final IFC issuance.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $31,200.00 - $48,000.00 - $64,800.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
