Leidos seeks a Consulting Employee to support FHWA’s Human Factors Onsite Support Services Contract for FHWA’s Safety and Operations programs, and lead the research under this program.
The candidate will provide senior-level thought leadership, technical direction, and business development on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
Duties will include customer relationship management, providing technical guidance to project and proposal teams (including in-house staff and subcontractors), providing thought-leadership on strategic solutions to transportation problems using vulnerable road users and driving simulation, reviewing reports and proposals, and other duties as assigned. The candidate will be responsible for adhering to deadlines; communicating with customers, in-house staff, and subcontractors about project direction and goals; public speaking; and presenting to Leidos management.
Characteristics necessary for success include:
Candidate should hold national level expertise in the fields of roadway human factors, safety, and simulation; and possess strong qualifications and demonstrable work experience for Federal, State and local agencies related to the same topics.
Position is located from home office with travel to Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center, Mclean, VA and surrounding areas. Occasional travel to customer and Leidos locations.
Required Education & Experience:
- Doctorate in Philosophy in human factors, engineering, or transportation-related field
- 25+ years of experience in transportation-related field
- 25+ years of Federal, State or local transportation agency experience preferred, including executive leadership positions. Business development activities to government agencies is preferred.
- Experience working with/ for Federal, state, and local agencies is desirable
Pay Range:
