The Leidos Innovations Center (LInC) at Leidos currently has an opening for a Research Scientist to support a variety of programs in San Diego, CA. This position will focus on improving the robustness modeling development, simulation support, and devising methods for the purpose of contributing to practical scientific application.

The Challenge:
- Research, design, and development of processing and analysis methods, simulation efficiency direction and infrastructure support, planning and executing both laboratory and field research, interpretation, and evaluation of data.
- Possess excellent analytical problem-solving skills to aid in the development of technical hardware, software hosting, and test planning solutions. Sponsor requirements may contain little direction, requiring flexibility of solution planning and agile planning.
- Work self-reliantly to achieve day-to-day objectives both as set by a program manager or as independently outlined to meet a larger work breakdown structure deliverable schedule, while coordinating and with a larger project team.
- Effectively communicate with both internal project team members as well as government sponsors to provide status awareness, critical path context, and influence solution design trade-offs.
What Sets You Apart:
- BS in related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering Physics, etc.), and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience, Masters in related field with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience, or BS in unrelated field with 10+ years of appropriate experience.
- US citizenship
- Active TS Clearance
- Familiar with Distributed Computing
- Adept in MATLAB
- Proficient in Linux and Windows
- Cloud Computing Experience
- Perform simulation and analysis with in-house codes
- Experience translating functional requirements into tasks
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work directly with customers and deliver results
- Mission oriented with a strong ability contribute to team goals and work in a team environment to deliver real world products
- Proficient with technical writing, documentation, and organization
- Robust sense of initiative, a self-starter who can work independently

Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
