If you have previous quality and aircraft maintenance experience as either a prior service member serving as a Navy Quality Assurance Representative (QAR), Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR), Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Army Quality Control Technical Inspector (TI), or an Air Force Quality Assurance Inspector or if you were in the commercial field of aviation maintenance quality we’re looking for you! The Quick Reaction Capability Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Division (QRC AISR) of Leidos Inc. has a need for an Aviation Quality Control Engineer based out of our location in Bridgewater, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to use your aviation maintenance and quality expertise on the STAMP program. In this mission, the Aviation Quality Control Engineer will provide onsite critical aviation maintenance quality oversight by ensuring the program prime and subcontractor personnel facilitate aircraft maintenance in accordance with contractual, OEM, and enterprise requirements. Your efforts will help ensure performance through scheduling internal process audits/inspections, requirements research, documentation review, documented reporting of compliance to the requirements, visual verifications, and the consistent facilitation of structure improvement activities. You must be an agent for change and have a passion for quality while being self-motivated.
Your duties will include the development and review of processes and procedures that align the program with DCMA 8210.1C, and aerospace industry AS9100 requirements as well as the execution of established program execution and mission assurance requirements. This requires a broad understanding of all aspects of aviation including maintenance and operation functions.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure compliance to operating procedures contained in the combined regulation/instruction entitled “Contractor’s Flight and Ground Operations” (Air Force Instruction 10-220, Army Regulation 95-20, NAVAIR Instruction 3710.1 (Series), Coast Guard Instruction M13020.3, and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Instruction 8210.1).
Communicate risks to quality and program leadership as they pertain to DFARS 252.228-7001 Ground and Flight Risk clause (if applicable).
Complete periodic documented quality oversight inspections/audits of the Aircraft Handling & Maintenance, GSE Maintenance, FOD Program, Tool Control Program, Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), HAZMAT Program, Aircraft Records and Training, Inventory Management, Corrosion Control Prevention, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF), Safety Program, Obsolescence, Counterfeit Parts Prevention.
Liaise with the assigned Government Ground and Flight Representative(s) for site surveillance and visits required by DCMA personnel.
Maintain compliance to ISO 9001:2015/AS9100:2016, QMS standard for the aviation, space and defense industry to meet requirements set for by International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) which mandate manufacturers design and develop products that are safe and fit for their intended use.
Ensure compliance to OEM requirements for installed aircraft systems utilized to achieve program operational performance requirements.
Address Internal and External Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and provide a timely, sustained resolution through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action Plan (CAP), Verifications, and Effectiveness Reviews.
Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually required meetings and be able to develop reporting presentations and brief results if required.
Aid in the classification of repairs and alterations in relation to Major or Minor Repairs.
Assist in entry of, and correct verification of, fault data and work packages including checks/inspections forms, log pages, routines and non-routines, modification orders, etc. to ensure completion, correctness, use of appropriate references into an automated mission management means.
Ensure adherence to all standards, Leidos policies, and best practices.
Provide the quality lead with timely metrics and audit outcomes to gauge progress towards quality objectives.
Report to higher-level management on Quality Objectives Achievement and act as liaison for enterprise quality initiatives for the program.

Basic Qualifications
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
BS degree and 4 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with 2 years of prior relevant Quality Auditing/Inspecting experience OR 8 Years of experience in lieu of degree
Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance after hire with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI if required by customer.
Professional attitude, logical minded, process oriented, organized, responsible, and accountable with minimum oversight.
Ability to research and comprehend aviation program manuals, forms, and records.
Must be a US Citizen and have a valid passport
Must be willing and able to travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations as needed (OCONUS travel may include Hardship & Hazardous locations) 20% Maximum.
Must be highly proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office products (Office, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledgebase in ISO 9001/AS9100/AS9110 requirements.
FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
Bachelor’s Degree in a quality related field such as:
Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management
Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, Quality Management Minor
Bachelor’s degree in related Quality Assurance or Quality Control field.
In depth knowledge of DCMA 8210.1C
Certification to ISO 9001/AS9100/AS9110.
Additional years of experience directly working in aviation programs in support of defense contracts under DCMA INST 8210.1 /AR 95-20 requirements may be considered in lieu of degree.
Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office products Excel and Power BI.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
