The Defense Group at Leidos is searching for Microservices Developers for future openings at Lackland AFB, TX. This position is part of a large program supporting the U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command’s (ACC) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission.

Primary Responsibilities
Design and develop software applications. Collaborate with stakeholders/project managers to determine their requirements and develop software solutions that meet the specific needs of military operations, including command and control systems, communications, ISR systems, and cyber defense tools. Test and validate software. Conduct thorough testing and validation of software applications to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with military requirements. Identify and resolve bugs or issues in a timely manner to minimize risks to mission-critical systems. Maintain and upgrade existing systems. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed software applications and systems. Implement updates, patches, or upgrades as needed to address evolving threats or emerging technologies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Work closely with engineers, analysts, 3rd party vendors, and defense industry professionals to develop integrated solutions and share best practices. Communicate effectively with non-technical team members to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements. Prepare technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials for customers, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to effectively use and maintain software systems. Stay current with emerging technologies and apply this knowledge to develop innovative solutions to enhance military capabilities and ensure a technological edge. Collaborate with stakeholders to create comprehensive security policies and guidelines for containerized applications and infrastructure, addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
TS/SCI security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Electrical Engineering (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
8+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with BASH scripting and Linux Command Line
Experience in debugging different microservices
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous assignments/work in Cyber operations supporting the ACC ISR enterprise
Experience with C/C++, Python or PowerShell
Experience with full-stack development including User interface/User experience (UI/UX)
Experience using Javascript-based front-end technologies (e.g., React, Material UI, etc.)
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Self-starting and innovative mindset

This is a hybrid position where the candidate will be expected to work from the Southwest Research Institute (SWRI), Lackland AFB and occasional telework.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
