To our valued Leidos candidates:

Coronavirus is on everyone's mind with the effects being felt around the world. The markets are volatile, and we're all concerned for the health and safety of our families, friends, and colleagues. Please know that we're taking all necessary measures to safeguard our employees, customers and the communities in which we live, including following all recommended best practices around social distancing.

With that in mind, in an abundance of caution, we are canceling all face to face career events, such as job fairs and open house events. In the coming days and weeks, we will be hosting career events virtually, using our online chat tools so that we may continue our hiring practice safely and securely. You can find available virtual career events at https://career-events.leidos.com.

We are using telephone meetings and online chats via Brazen to conduct interviews and hiring discussions, and we are offering options for video interviews so that you can have a virtual face to face meeting with your potential new leader. We do not conduct interviews or extend offers via text or chat based social media, such as WhatsApp or MySpace.

Leidos will never ask you to provide payment-related information at any part of the employment application process, nor will Leidos ever advance money as part of the hiring process. And Leidos will communicate with you only through emails that are generated by Leidos.com automated system. If you receive an email purporting to be from Leidos that asks for payment-related information or any other personal information, please report the email to Chris Scalia, Leidos’ Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisition, at [email protected].

As a company, as a country, as a world, we have confronted challenging moments before. We are confident that, guided by our values and the strength of our community as well as the commitment we have to the important work we do each day, we will find our way through this time together. We will do this with the care and concern for one another and the common good that defines. Please keep those impacted by the virus in your thoughts.

Leidos is seeking a Licensed Therapist to support the Cannon Air Force Base, NM.

The Rotational SOCOM licensed therapist will provide highly confidential counseling services and support to active duty military service members and their families across the country and around the globe.

Leidos partners with the Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program to provide highly confidential counseling services and support to military service members and their families. Non-medical counseling is preventive in nature and aims to address and solve issues before they become more harmful problems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Face-to-face counseling to military service members and their families (Individual, Couples, and Family).

  • Visibility in assigned installation, supporting military-connected students, parents and staff.

  • Recommending appropriate referrals and handoffs based on your experienced differential clinical skills to military and community resources according to the needs of military service members and their families.

  • Developing and/or using approved counseling, training and education programs and materials.

  • Communicating information regarding trends and issues at assigned installation to Team Leads.

  • Participating in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned.

  • Participating in installation and community events.

Minimum requirements:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD)

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist.

  • Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, CMHC, or Psychologist) in the state of New Mexico.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance.

Many people like you, who have behavioral or mental health experience, are finding satisfaction in the non- medical counseling profession. Your education and experience can more effectively help people navigate life’s challenges when you’re not spending long hours completing billing and documentation, filing paperwork or sitting at a desk all day. The MFLC model emphasizes simple and easy documentation used for reporting activity only:

  • No long narratives to generate

  • No insurance to file

  • No progress notes

  • No treatment plans

While helping America's bravest and their families, MFLC counselors also benefit from:

  • Free work-related professional development courses.

  • iPad provided for easy digital reporting, with no PII or PHI.

  • Reimbursement for job-related license renewal fees.

  • Flexible 40-hour work weeks.

  • Paid federal holidays.

Along with job satisfaction, you will be a part of the force of counseling excellence that makes a meaningful difference for U.S. Service Members and their families! Counselors play a vital role in helping service members and their families get the support they truly need. Military children face unique emotional and environmental challenges due to the stress of military life.

  • Offer trainings to address social skills development and social emotional learning that is crucial for childhood early development.

  • Promote creativity and positivity through approved materials and tools.

  • Give presentations that build skills and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Become an integral part of the military educational leadership community that shapes our nation’s future. Many MFLCs receive military honors and awards as a gesture of appreciation for the value they bring!
