About the Antarctic Support Contract:

Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:

  • Vision:  Expanding our scientific reach in Antarctica through increased operational and logistical effectiveness.

  • Mission:  To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent.

Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines.  The planning and implementation of science support requirements in Antarctica is a critical part of our mission.

Your Main Objective:

Provide leadership and support for all security compliance initiatives, such as: 

  • Manage and coordinate external Office of Inspector General (OIG) and internal Security Controls Assessment (SCA) audits and the creation and delivery of audit artifacts. 

  • Lead annual plan to identify, document, and update applicable security controls in the System Security Plan in accordance with NIST SP 800-53 rev 5, Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations, and NIST SP 800-37, Risk Management Framework. 

  • Ensure configuration control over Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages. 

  • Coordinate with Security Engineers, IT Operations teams, and customers to develop and maintain the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), Acceptance of Risk (AOR), and other required security documentation, processes, and procedures. 

  • Conduct and document security assessments to determine the effectives and compliance of planned and implemented security controls. • Perform systems security evaluations, audit, and server logging reviews to verify secure operations and recommends mitigations and corrective actions. 

  • Organize and facilitate contingency planning and incident response exercises. 

  • Support Incident Response activities to mitigate damage, determine impact, document activities, and implement corrective actions. 

  • Create, publish, and manage content for the information security awareness and training program. 

  • Develop and present information security reports for stakeholders, customers, and management based on Information Security operational metrics, security assessments, and security reviews. 

  • Evaluate proposed enhancements and changes to the operational / business systems and develop appropriate security requirements. 

  • Develop privacy impact assessments, information categorization, sensitivity assessments, security tests, and evaluation assessments.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity and at least eight (8) years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience and relevant certifications will be considered in lieu of degree. 

  • Experience in system vulnerability assessments and developing certification and accreditation packages. 

  • Experience with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) requirements and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework. 

  • Current Information Security certification(s) (e.g., CISM, CISSP, CISSO, CISA, Security+). 

  • Highly knowledgeable in applying FISMA requirements such as NIST SP 800-53 rev 5 and NIST SP 800-37 to US Government programs. 

  • Experience implementing and administering Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools. 

  • Understanding and application of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). 

  • Capable of managing projects within an established project management framework. 

  • Familiar with patch and vulnerability management processes and tools (e.g., Tenable Nessus).  

  • Proficient in validating baseline security configurations and policies (e.g., DISA, CIS Benchmarks). 

  • Effective at interacting with compliance auditors and managing delivery of audit artifacts. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Per contract requirements, candidates must have US Citizenship and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
