What Will You Do
Lead recommendations to improve reliability, performance, or cost effectiveness based on observations of the network environment and make/implement recommendations to the government for improvement in the operating and/or security environment.
Coordinate with the functional customers on system requirements and support any installations associated with upgrades and document any changes in network topology as well as coordinate outages with functional customers and communicate with government leadership and other agencies (both internal and external) regarding matters that could significantly impact mission systems.
Review Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts/Bulletins (IAVA/B) related to CISCO products to develop, and implement remediation plans, and perform physical patching and software (CISCO IOS) patching as required.
Isolate and resolve network problems associated with the operating system of the CISCO devices within the enclave and develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for routine and non-routine procedures that assist in the management of the network.
Perform required re-accreditation actions such as DISA STIG review, IOS upgrades, vulnerability scan remediation, and document various required lists (PPSM, H/W, and S/W) during the network’s accreditation cycle.
Develop technical refresh plans for the network devices that make up the network enclave based on End of Support (EOS) date and provide cost estimates and implementation plan to the government program manager.
What Sets You Apart
A Bachelor's degree with (3) or more years of related work experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Demonstrated experience with practical engineering and design experience in DoD communication systems and networks.
Proficiency in configuring CISCO devices using: EIGRP, BGP, SNMP, TCP/IP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, ARP, dot1Q, VLANs, VPN, GRE, IPSEC, subnetting, NAT, access control lists, and various other routing and networking protocols and remediating findings from vulnerability scans.
A current DoD Top Secret/SCI level of clearance
Certifications Required
Active IAT Level II DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
Current CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification

Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $119,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
