Leidos currently has an opening for a Security Specialist to work in our sunny San Diego, CA office.

Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping Leidos make the world safer, healthier, and more efficient through information technology, engineering, and science.  In this mission, you will serve as the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO). You will have a broad range of responsibilities and will be encouraged to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers, including multiple government agencies. We'll count on you to ensure strict compliance with government, customer, and company security policies and procedures including the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), DoD 5200.01 SAP Manuals volumes 1-4, Risk Management Framework (NIST 800-53, JSIG), Program Security Directives/Guides contractually imposed by customers and the Leidos Corporate Security Practice Plan (SPP). The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience to expand across multiple security disciplines and thrive in a fast-paced work environment while multitasking and adjusting priorities to meet the needs of the customers, Security team, and supported business units. 

As a Leidos CSSO, you will be supporting all aspects of the security program while maintaining strict compliance to government, customer, and company security policies. This includes document control, destruction, accountability, clearance processing, briefings, classification management, records maintenance, visitor control, meeting coordination, foreign travel, incident investigation, self-inspections, physical security, etc. Availability to respond to after-hour alarms and emergency conditions. The candidate will assist with SVA preparations and internal peer reviews. General support of NISPOM compliance programs. Working knowledge of security software programs (e.g., DISS, SIMS, JADE, eFOCI, eFCL, eQIP). 4+ years in a DoD or other industrial security programs, and a solid understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). 4+ years working with SAP and/or SCI programs with a solid understanding of ICD 503 & 705 and DoDM 5205.07 V1-4. US Citizenship with active Top Secret Clearance and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance. Excellent written communication and organizational skills. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well individually as well as on a team. Possess the interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of individuals. Ability to work well under pressure, possess good problem-solving skills, and enforce policies in a professional and personable manner with staff at all levels.

Primary Responsibilities
•You will have a broad range of responsibilities and will be encouraged to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers, including several government agencies
•Support the Security team as a CSSO supporting all aspects of the security program with strict compliance with government, customer, and company security policies
•Will include document control, destruction, and accountability, clearance processing, briefings, classification management, records maintenance, visitor control, meeting coordination, foreign travel, incident investigation, self-inspections, physical security, etc
•Availability to respond to after-hour alarms and emergency conditions
•Candidate will assist with SVA preparations and conduct internal peer reviews
•General support of NISPOM compliance programs
•Support the Leidos COMSEC team by assisting with receipt, dispatch, and accountability of COMSEC and keying materials
•Provide agency-level technical expertise concerning physical security, industrial security, and contractor clearance processes
•Receive, control, and safeguard SCI and collateral information
•Prepare and disseminate security requirements, guidance, and procedures
•Ensure personnel are aware of their Reporting Responsibilities such as Foreign Contact and Foreign Travel
•Collaborate with Leidos corporate security, DoD, IC, and other officials as required to maintain knowledge and understanding of current security regulations and requirements
•Interpret security policy on matters of processing, dissemination, and controlling of classified materials
•Monitor and manage security operations and provide status reports and recommendations
•Create, manage, and execute Security and CI training programs
•Collaborate with internal and external managers to ensure understanding of program operations requirements. 

Qualifications
•Bachelors or equivalent professional experience and 4+ years experience.  Additional years experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
•The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience to expand across multiple security disciplines and thrive in a fast-paced work environment while multitasking and adjusting priorities to meet the needs of the customers, Security team, and supported business units
•US Citizenship with active Top Secret Clearance and ability to obtain and maintain TS/Full Scope Polygraph clearance
•4+ years in a DoD, or other industrial security program and a solid understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
•Ability to analyze complex data and make appropriate program recommendations
•Knowledge of multiple Security functional areas
•Excellent organizational skills
•Ability to work well under pressure, possess good problem-solving skills, and be able to enforce policies in a professional and personable manner with staff at all levels

Preferred Qualifications
•4+ years working with SAP and/or SCI programs with a solid understanding of ICD 503 & 705 and DoDM 5205.07 V1-4
•Working knowledge of security software programs (e.g., DISS, SIMS, JADE, eFOCI, eFCL, eQIP)


 

Pay Range:

Pay Range $59,150.00 - $91,000.00 - $122,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
