Leidos could use your Active Directory expertise in support of one of our NORAD and USNORTHCOM customer. Our customer maintains a highly demanding mission and requires our support to provide expert technical and professional management support to the commands enterprise Information Technology (IT) services. All of your work will be performed at Peterson Space Force Base (SFB) located in Colorado Springs, CO.

As the Senior Active Directory Architect, you will lead efforts to redesign the AD structure with the goals of flattening the domain, simplifying Group Policy Object (GPO) management and reducing complexity in the environment. You will be regarded as a SME in this position and you will have responsibility for the design and configuration of AD in a Windows Server Environment. To be successful in this role, you should have direct experience supporting Active Directory (AD) engineering and operations. 

Target Salary: $160,000 - $165,000

What will you do in this role?

  • Analyze the existing environment, to include Organization Units (OU), GPOs, Domain Name Service (DNS) and Security Groups and designs an appropriate structure and naming convention that follows industry standards and best practices. 

  • Conduct interviews with stakeholders to identify organization and mission requirements as they relate the capabilities of the AD infrastructure: resiliency, survivability, permission delegation, operational management. 

  • Design and architect an AD infrastructure, including design and implementation of Organizational Units (OU), Site and Subnets, Delegation, Group Policy Objects (GPO) and Group Policy management, Domain Naming Services (DNS) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) to align with the organizations business requirements and minimizes complexity.

  • Analyze business and mission applications (i.e., SharePoint, SQL, SCCM, etc.) and identifies the complexities, dependencies and required tasks to migrate from the old domain to the new domain.  

  • Create documentation on the new domain structure, migration plan and timeline. 

  • Clean up the existing environment to eliminate artifacts; prepares and builds the new environment based on the redesign plan.  

  • Implement user rights assignments for specific systems in accordance with industry best practices. 

  • Design the SQL clusters needed to support the application migration on the findings during the analysis.   

  • Perform migration of applications from the old domain to the new domain, including configuring the necessary permissions, group policies, authentications, etc. 

  • Perform migration services (e.g., users, groups, computers, DNS, etc) utilizing migration tools such as Quest. 

  • Configure security policies, including password policies, account policies and audit policies in accordance with DoD guidelines. 

  • Conduct testing to validate resources migrated successfully and provide training as required.  

  • Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.  

These are the required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years, Master's Degree and 10+ years or equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must have Sec + and OS Cert (i.e., Server +, Azure) at start date. 

  • Experience with Active Directory services infrastructure architect/design/support. 

  • Proven experience architecting and designing AD forests, domain, trusts, DNS, DHCP, GPOs and OUs. 

  • Experience with planning and performing Active Directory migrations 

  • Experience with VMware vSphere and Hyper-V virtualization. 

  • Experience with Nutanix virtualization. 

  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell). 

  • Knowledge of security policies and general vulnerabilities management. 

  • Understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP. 

  • Active and current Secret security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

These are the preferred qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in associated field

  • Experience with Quest Migration tools.

  • Excellent project, technical, interpersonal, presentation and problem management skills

  • Familiarity with NORAD/USNORTHCOM missions and DOD regulations and directives.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
