Leidos has a current opening in Greenwood Village Colorado for a Chinese Language Translator

Serve as long-term, full-time, onsite translator of primary source materials in support of high-level DoD program. Position requires native Chinese language fluency (focus is on written, national defense, military and technical materials) and strong written English language proficiency. Position highly values military background, and exposure to technical language in Chinese and English. Position also values previous professional translation experience, open-mindedness to learn and work with linguist and non-linguist Subject Matter Experts, and a teamwork approach.

Primary Responsibilities

Produce highly accurate translation of military science and military technical Chinese language material (primarily simplified characters) into English, at professional-standard speed and volume. Provide linguist support to team members to support multi-disciplinary program.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree and 2-4 years of experience
• Must be a U.S Citizen.
• Eligible to obtain a Interim Secret Security clearance
• Native Chinese language fluency (focus is on written, national defense, military and technical materials) and strong written English language proficiency.
• DLPT, if taken, are IRL levels of 3/3 or higher in Mandarin.
• Candidates will be required to accomplish a translation and language exercise. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Military background, familiarity and facility with technical language
• Previous professional translation experience, and knowledge of pinyin Romanization.
• Master’s degree.

Security Clearance Information

• Applicant must meet one of three security clearance criteria: 1) have an active SECRET clearance; 2) have SECRET eligibility based on a previous access debrief date within the last two years; or, 3) accept an offer based on a contingency that they must be able to obtain Interim SECRET clearance within 45 days from date of the offer.

Pay Range:

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
