Leidos Intelligence Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to support an enterprise IT program in northern Virginia. This position requires system engineering support to perform O&M tasks and implement proactive solutions that address evolving technological infrastructure needs using very specific software.

A current and active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required for this position.  We do not have the ability to sponsor clearance processing for this role.

Primary Responsibilities

The customer requires support specializing in system engineering to perform operational and system administrative tasks, identify and remediate system risks, and implement proactive solutions that address evolving technological infrastructure needs. The Systems Engineer will:

  • Work closely with the client for work prioritization.
  • Execute systems engineering tasks as necessary to support the customer’s information technology enterprise.
  • Provide technical support and assist in the resolution of escalated technical issues.
  • Plan and manage hardware (HW) and software (SW) modifications and upgrades.
  • Serve as lead for select IT contractors.
  • Support the activities and future growth of the customer’s virtual environment through vendor discussions, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), system patching and upgrades, Assessment & Accreditation (A&A) efforts, backup solutions, and Disaster Recovery (DR) implementation in furtherance of an adoption of a cloud environment.
  • Work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • Possession of a current and active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
  • Bachelors degree and 12+ year of prior relevant experience or Masters degree with 10+ years of experience; relevant professional and educational experience may be counted towards the required years experience.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, serving as a team lead.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, supporting a stand-alone environment.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, planning and leading software modifications and upgrades.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, managing an on-premises virtual infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, planning, implementing, and maintaining a Disaster Recovery Site.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, transitioning an on-premises virtual solution to a virtual private cloud (VPC).
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, managing MS Product Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, managing MS SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, managing MS Server 2012/2019.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, administering a vulnerability assessment tool, for example Rapid7 and Nessus.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, managing virtual appliance suites, for example Nutanix and Rubrik.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, administering SPLUNK.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, administering McAfee.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, interacting with end users to provide guidance and hands-on support to help resolve problems, concerns, and errors and to explain or demonstrate procedures and techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, maintaining system accreditation.
  • Demonstrated experience, within the last six (6) months, conducting security audits of virtual environments in collaboration with external groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience supporting TeamMate+™, TeamMateAM™, and TeamMate Analytics ™.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Case Management Tracking System (CMTS).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Idea™.
  • Demonstrated experience making virtual machine configuration changes necessary to resolve trouble tickets or to comply with customer requirements and IT best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience administering user access by adding and deleting user accounts, maintaining user permissions and access privileges.
  • Demonstrated experience making application software and operating system configuration changes necessary to resolve trouble tickets or to comply with customer requirements and IT best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing, with oversight, the customer’s requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and mitigating software security vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with the customer’s unique IT infrastructure and ongoing projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with the customer’s audit and analysis software packages.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating orally and in writing with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting data transfer operations.
  • Demonstrated experience executing O&M tasks as necessary to support the customer’s software and hardware infrastructure.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $118,300.00 - $213,850.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
