Description
Project Manager
Based from our Bedford office with regular travel
Are you a Senior Project Manager / Program Manager ready to drive critical automation projects at busy airports?
As a Program Manager here at Leidos, you will run a portfolio of automation projects at major airports, such as the installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of our Security Detection Equipment and Baggage handling lines.
You’re a hands-on Program Manager, you enjoy being in the thick of the action…on site, watching the project progress live. We have a number of commitments from installing new machinery to service and support of existing automation in busy airports; you’re responsible for the general, contractual and financial execution of these programs, so you’re used to keeping a lot of plates spinning.
You’re a technically minded Project Manager, able to lead planning and supporting of technical design and development efforts, preliminary and concept Design Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews. You’ll also lead internal program reviews and periodically review detailed technical, cost, and schedule performance, as well as ensuring the project is correctly and fully resourced.
You’re a problem solver – busy airports don’t stop to allow us to install new machinery, you’ll need to find ways to work around a live environment and not disrupt the flow of passengers. Should any issues come up throughout the project, you can find solutions.
You’re a great communicator, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, giving regular updates on live projects and coordinating teams undertaking the work. You’ll deal with any incoming enquiries/proposals, analysing them and making the decision on what we can cover, then it’s up to you make it happen.
You’ll work within an evolving industry which continues to grow following the pandemic, with an ever-changing landscape from evolving technology to the updating regulations and legislation which should keep you on your toes!
If you take satisfaction from seeing the project progress, watching automation being built up from the ground – then you find this role particularly rewarding.
Why should you join our Program Team?
We are problem solvers – we often have to think on our feet to solve engineering problems, minimising downtime and finding solutions to challenges.
Growing Industry – technology is evolving, our customers are evolving. As a heavily regulated industry, new legislations and considerations mean we have to be adaptable in our approach.
Reward – we offer a competitive package with great benefits from a pension scheme (contribution matched up to 8%), private medical insurance and life assurance with loads of flexible benefits including dental insurance, gym flex and shopping discounts. This role also comes with a car/car allowance, overtime and out of hours allowance.
