Description
Leidos has an immediate need for a Senior Security Architect for a new customer on a highly-visible and strategic Cybersecurity Task Order. The Senior Security Architect will need to be a self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks in an effective manner. This individual will work with internal team members to ensure the systems are functional, secure, and scalable. The systems and networks developed will be used to collect and process data and improve the customer’s security infrastructure. The Senior Security Architect will support the design and development of cybersecurity tools and technology along with integration of new architectural features into existing infrastructures while maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise-wide systems and networks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Document any changes and recommend any future updates architecture and design documents by staying abreast to trending and technological advancements
Develop procedures for the continuous monitoring of devices accessing DHS networks that are outside the scope of current manual and automated capabilities to ensure visibility of all systems.
Review trends and advancements in technology (ex. Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing) and create white papers, as requested.
Develop draft guidance and policy surrounding the implementation virtual and cloud environments.
Develop and inventory scripts and queries to organize, extract, and present data in support of architectural role.
Provide architecture subject matter advisement to the Government including, but not limited to, cybersecurity security and engineering principles and design and implementation of National Security Manager guidance
Analyze continuous monitoring, configuration management, vulnerability management, asset management, software management and self-reported data to identify trends and anomalies cybersecurity performance and mitigation of risks.
Develop Security Impact Analysis (SIA) reports, as a result of analysis under the security architecture role
Support any internal and external audits of the DHS NSS environment
Create presentation/briefs relating the security architecture, as required
Document and address information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must currently possess or be able to obtain a DHS EOD
At least 4 years of previous experience as a Security Engineer or a similar role
General knowledge of Splunk technology with hands-on administrative experience preferred
Software development experience in at least one programming language and one scripting language contributing to large development projects
Experience with some enterprise applications
In-depth experience in five with a preference of seven or more of the following: networking protocols, cloud technologies, virtualization, routers, security stacks, incident response, Threat Intelligence Platforms, BlueCoat, FireEye, mobility, penetration testing, Authorization and Accreditation (A&A), EnCase/malware analysis, network packet capture analysis.
Familiarity with Zero Trust concepts, technologies, and implementation strategies to incorporate into Customer solutions and support a transition to Zero Trust
Possesses a general understanding of enterprise-level performance issues and mitigations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with multiple stakeholders
Ability to draft IT Architectural diagrams to articulate technical solutions and nuance to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently with minimal direction; self-starter/self-motivated
Ability to direct the work of other security engineers
Senior-level security or management certification is required, e.g. CISSP. Additional certifications are highly desirable.
Candidate must, at a minimum, possess one of these certifications: CASP, GCIH, GCWN, GISF, GISP, GSSP, GICSP, GSSP, SEI, CISSP, CSSLP, SSCP, CCNP, CCNP Security, CCIE Security, CEH, ECSP, MCSE, RHCA, RHCE, VCP, VCAP, VCIX, VCDX, Certified Splunk Architect, MS: Azure Administrator Associate, MS: Cybersecurity Architect Expert, MS: MS: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise with Microsoft Azure or AWS Cloud Platforms
Experience automating management tasks with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Experience working between different Cloud Provider environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience developing in Bash, Python, PowerShell
Experience working with SIEM tools such as Splunk to ingest, normalize, store, and maintain data from endpoint, network, and application source types
Education & Experience:
Requires Bachelors Degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience in order to operate within the scope contemplated by the level.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.00 - $213,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
