The Leidos Public Health Operation is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer, Contingent upon contract award, to support a Modernization effort for the CDC.

Role is expected to be fully remote

Must currently reside in the United States for the last three consecutive years

Duties:

Implements security automation to integrate security testing into the software development lifecycle. Uses tools such as automated security scans and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and potential security threats. Collaborates with development and security teams to ensure that security requirements are included in software development processes. Works with developers to ensure that code is developed with security in mind, and works with security teams to ensure that security measures are implemented throughout the software development lifecycle. Implements security controls, such as firewalls and access controls, to protect software and infrastructure from cyber threats. Monitors and analyzes security metrics to identify areas for improvement in the software development lifecycle. Utilizes data to identify potential security risks and to make recommendations for improving security measures. Ensures that software development and deployment processes are compliant with regulatory and industry standards, such as HIPAA and PCI DSS. Works with compliance teams to ensure that security measures are aligned with compliance requirements. Provides security training to development teams to ensure that developers understand security best practices and are equipped to develop secure code. Implements cloud security measures, such as encryption and access controls, to ensure that cloud infrastructure is secure.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 12 years of progressive related experience

  • Experience with JavaScript, Python, Bash
  • Experience with UI development using technology such as Angular 2 and Node
  • Experience with SAST and DAST security testing in a DevSecOps environment
  • Demonstrated experience with developing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with automation of processes using Ansible and YAML
  • Working knowledge of Visual Studio or other IDEs
  • Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus, Jira
  • Experience with configuration tools such as Puppet and Chef.
  • Experience with containers using Docker, Podman, Kubernetes
  • Experience with querying/updating RDBMS such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
  • Experience with automated unit testing and integration testing
  • Experience in MS Azure or Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud virtual environments
  • Energy and passion with an eye towards continuous improvement in self and business processes
  • Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with logging tools such as Grafana and Splunk
  • Experience with GitOps
  • Azure or AWS Certifications
  • Experience with CDC/Public Health
  • Experience working in Scaled Agile (SAFe) environments

Requires ability to obtain Public Trust level 5 clearance

Pay Range:

Pay Range $118,300.00 - $213,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
