Leidos is seeking Systems Engineers experienced in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods. The Leidos Defense group currently has an opening for a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to provide modeling and simulation support to the Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) division. The engineer will design, develop, test, and document simulations in SysML Cameo System Modeler. Candidates must have Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML diagraming skills and have some knowledge in aerospace systems. The qualified candidate must also be able to work independently and have effective writing and verbal communication skills.
THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)
Designs, creates, and integrates mechanical models and simulations into computing and virtualization systems for a variety of disciplines (i.e., training, business processes, cyber threat, engineering, etc.).
Advises Cybersecurity and Systems Engineering Teams on all matters related to systems engineering, in particular with managing cyber requirement updates and managing the accreditation artifacts for continuous monitoring.
Oversees and manages the MBSE model configuration control, verification, and validation in support of cyber requirements for any security changes and updates.
Assist in planning, researching, and developing modeling and simulation programs that more effectively deal with rapid changes in the cyberspace domain.
WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)
BS in Engineering or other closely related field with 4+ years of relevant experience OR an MS in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
The ability to work on a multidisciplinary team
Experience with DODAF/UAF or SysML
Security Clearance Requirement
Active DoD Secret clearance to start and ability to secure a TS/SCI
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience OR an MS in Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with using tools such as NoMagic CSM and IBM tool suite to do MBSE modeling. As well as experience with executable SysML simulation capabilities and scripting languages.
Experience with MBSE methodologies such as Magicgrid, IBM Harmony and their interfacing with Agile development methods.
Understanding of military CONOPS
Experience in simulation environments such as MATLAB, and the ability to program using Python or C++

Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
