Description

At White Sands Missile Range, we are looking for a Software Engineer to perform a variety of controls and data system designs and analysis for an applied R&D contract supporting High Power Microwave testing. You will get to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team, in collaboration with Government researchers doing fun experiments primarily in a laboratory environment supporting integration and configuration efforts on advanced instrumentation and associated networking systems.

  • Perform requirements definition for software including software analysis, analysis of hardware compatibility, development of software products and tools used for design, development and maintenance of infrastructure, and platforms. Design systems for analysis using codes including Java, C and Python.
  • Develop software for instrumentation systems and associated network interfacing equipment.
  • Configure and integrate remote-control systems.
  • Modify and develop analysis tools using software on high power microwave test devices.
  • The ideal candidate will work independently as well as with a team, learn new skills quickly, demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be organized, detail-oriented, careful, flexible, and self-motivated with a can-do attitude.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, systems engineering or equivalent related field with or an associates 1 years of experience.
  • Must posses an active and current DoD secret security clearance.
  • Experience with the following: operating mechanical vacuum equipment, laboratory equipment such as, sources, detectors, sensors, and characterization equipment; collecting, analyzing, interpreting data, writing test plans, documenting test results and generating reports; performing computer-based data acquisition and analysis.
  • Experience with, Python, C
  • Good computer skills using MS Windows are required, with proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have strong software skills and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience is desired in testbed design, build, alignment, and calibration; data acquisition development; and test planning, data collection and test reporting with High-power Microwave systems.
  • White Sands Missile Range testing experience.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $53,300.00 - $96,350.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
