Description

The Civil Group at Leidos has an excellent opportunity in our Webster, TX location for a Cargo Integrator to support NASA's Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) as a key member of the CMC Cargo Processing team. This position will perform analytical assessments and physical processing of spaceflight hardware to verify requirements are met before shipment to various launch sites or hardware owners. This role encompasses Cargo Mission Lead (CML) responsibilities, including planning, organizing, and managing resources to enable the successful completion of a mission. The role of the Cargo Integrator/CML ensures cargo events run within scope, time, and budget constraints with the ultimate goal of successful delivery to vehicle integrators for launch, or thardware owners in the case of return missions.

**Must have US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance**

Primary Responsibilities

Cargo Integrator:

  • Review CMC flight-specific schedule milestones; identify and resolve issues or challenges to meeting milestones by collaborating with internal team.
  • Establish Points of Contact, on-dock dates and logistics for tracking hardware deliveries for missions.
  • Review hardware data provided and identify inaccurate/discrepant data. Communicate with data and hardware owners to resolve discrepancies.
  • Identify off-nominal requirements, requests, and problems pertaining to hardware requirements and delivery to CMC. Apply prior experience, standard procedures, and basic analysis to resolve issues.
  • Communicate issues and challenges to the flight CML. Provide facts and make recommendations to assist in resolution.  
  • Organize and lead the Hardware Audit, including preparation of initial Hardware Accountability Matrix Report (HAMR), distribution of meeting notice, reservation of room, capture/closure of actions, etc.
  • Manage integrated hardware delivery schedule utilizing database throughout the duration of flight processing. Work with appropriate CML, hardware providers, and NASA to identify and report delivery and/or handling issues.
  • Conduct in-line Hardware Verification Review (HVR). Evaluate manifested flight hardware items to ensure program requirements are met, while observing hardware handling constraints.
  • Identify physical issues with hardware items, make recommendations for resolution, and coordinate with hardware providers and requirement owners to implement resolution. Ensure issues are resolved in order to meet schedule constraints.
  • Verify accuracy of barcode and serial number data and hardware hierarchy, which feeds the on-orbit inventory tracking report. Resolve discrepancies by coordinating with data owners to meet report delivery deadlines.
  • Track return hardware items from on-orbit ISS by developing Return Manifest Disposition Plan (RMDP) and resolving discrepancies with data and requirements.
  • Conduct return hardware verification and document physical issues or inconsistencies from plan, and record data such as mass, serial numbers, and barcodes.

Cargo Mission Lead:

  • Generate and manage CMC flight-specific schedule. Identify and resolve schedule constraints or challenges throughout mission timeline. 
  • Coordinate s across multi-disciplinary teams (physical integration, stowage integration, safety, sustaining engineering, software development) to ensure requirements milestones and product deliveries are met.
  • Identify issues and off-nominal requests pertaining to hardware requirements and delivery to CMC. Work with internal and external stakeholders including CMC management, hardware providers, Visiting Vehicle Team, and NASA reps to implement resolution.
  • Communicate flight status as needed, including at weekly Integrated Product Team meeting and bi-weekly CMC Management Board meeting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, and less than 2 years of prior related experience
  • Experience working effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proactive and clear communicator, both verbal and written
  • Highly organized and process-driven
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with handling flight hardware
  • Project Management knowledge and/or experience
  • Basic MicroSoft Project skills

Pay Range:

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
