Are you ready for an exciting adventure? Leidos is seeking a skilled and motivated Material Expediter to join our team at our office in Centennial, CO. This position is responsible for the daily inbound and outbound processing of USPS, FedEX, and UPS shipments, the timely receipt, processing, and accurate documentation of all inbound purchased materials destined for the Centennial office or onboard movement to a United States Antarctic Program (USAP) station or research vessel as well as the return of retrograde cargo.
Per contract requirements, US Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance prior to start date. Failure to meet these requirements will result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action.
About the Antarctic Support Contract:
Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:
Vision: Expanding our scientific reach in Antarctica through increased operational and logistical effectiveness.
Mission: To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent.
Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines. The planning and implementation of science support requirements in Antarctica is a critical part of our mission.

Your Main Objective:
Coordinate shipping and receiving of inbound and outbound material or cargo from various customers/suppliers and locations in a timely manner.
Verify contents of shipment and ensure the correct material or cargo delivered matches the material or cargo requested.
Ensure cargo tracking system, Maximo, is accurately updated to electronically receive purchase order material and cargo; properly stage cargo for commercial transport.
Identify receiving discrepancies and notify the material planner; update documentation and material with correct information in order to continue receiving process, and maintain a log of all discrepancies and their current status.
Maintain an electronic receiving log of all purchase orders.
Process and filed open purchase orders on a daily basis.
Process and sort incoming mail on a daily basis.
Validate outbound shipments against Proformas and generate proper documentation.
Collaborate with document control representative to ensure international shipments are in compliance with international shipping regulations.
Properly package material based on material type and carrier restrictions.
Responsible for submittal of Commercial Air (COMAIR) documentation and entry into Maximo.
Store and maintain completed purchase order files.
Procure and maintain inventory of shipping supplies and postage meter.
Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices to assist in promoting a culture of safety awareness among the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Sets You Apart:
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Minimum of three to four years of diversified experience in a warehousing environment including experience shipping and receiving freight; experience in the transportation or supply industry, or hazardous materials handling is a plus.
Experience working in an office setting.
Proficient in maintaining a strong attention to detail, entering data in record keeping or data producing systems, manual record keeping, and typing.
Intermediate proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
The expected pay range for this position is $27 - $29 an hour.
