This position requires a candidate to hold an active Top Secret SCI (TS SCI) US Government security clearance.
This Systems Administrator position is part of the Leidos team which provides Systems Administration, Satellite Communications (SATCOM), and basic Network Administration services in support of the customer’s Joint Mobile Intelligence Communications System (JMICS) platforms and other functions. These services include operation services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability, as well as design, installation, maintenance, upgrading, replacement, and repair the JMICS and associated systems’ hardware and software components. The supported hardware includes, but is not limited to computers, servers, storage systems, networks, software, satellite antennas and modems, and printers. Additionally, the Systems Administrator will provide hardware, software, and application problems support to customers, as well as work through all types of issues and is capable of running an entire remote site. You will perform hardware maintenance and installations of IT equipment used within classified and unclassified local and wide area networks; apply remote services diagnostics; and install and incorporate new releases, updates, or other changes to COTS hardware and software. Systems Administrator must be able to load cryptographic keys and perform basic troubleshooting on many types of hardware.
Primary Responsibilities
Apprise leadership of the operational capability of the JMICS, the status of non-functioning equipment and open action items, and present other topics that have a direct impact on the ability of the JMICS to support the mission.
Maintain and operate the JMICS platforms, operate and maintain servers and storage devices, develop operating scripts to support assigned tasks, plan and manage disk space
Provide system administration support and execute Active Directory tasks and manage NTFS permissions
Perform preventative and remedial maintenance, plan for and respond to service outages and other problems
Isolate and resolve complex hardware and software problems involving applications, operating systems, hardware, communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with Windows Operating Systems, desktops, laptops, printers, SATCOM equipment, video teleconferences, VOIPs, and other standard office equipment
Participate in the organization’s change management process, and execute Change Management Board (CMB) actions within approved timelines
Maintain integrity of the operating systems, provide recommendations and implement customer CMB approved modifications of the JMICS platforms
Recommend new technologies for integration into communications and network infrastructures
Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all network hardware, software, and communication links.
Conduct system software and hardware upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination of workstation and server setup and administration
Complete basic and advanced hardware and infrastructure work as directed, including but not limited to: run and manage cables, install workstations, check UPS systems, replace systems hardware components and provide basic printer maintenance
Monitor and maintain continuity of system software licensing and maintenance agreements
Participate in or lead special projects and day-to-day operations as needed or assigned
Track all work in designated ticketing system (such as Remedy), ensure completeness and accuracy of tickets, and escalate issues as needed
Provide in person and remote support to customers individually or as part of a team across multiple networks and multiple facilities/locations
Create and manage accounts, set up workstations, and map drives and printers for end users
Schedule video teleconferences and de-conflict scheduled conferences as needed
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with software, such as MS Office and Outlook, Adobe, Java PKIs, and other customer applications
Provide IA support, software updates, and assist the ATO/ATC process.
Apply patches, STIGs, and updates to workstations both locally and remotely as well as using PowerShell RDP
Provide technological responses that prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats and conduct research and analysis of actionable cyber threats requiring a rapid response.
Provide basic networking support, including but not limited to: analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems, support transition and migration of networks and assist with developing network addressing schemes; perform administration support for local and wide area networks, including routers, switches, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, modems, adapters, firewalls, and other related network hardware; troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with Cisco network devices and LAN functionality and connectivity
Maintain continuous control and accountability of all hardware and software operated and maintained by the program personnel that is entered into and removed from classified facilities and shall provide an inventory report for all Communications Security (COMSEC), hardware, and software while in programs possession during working hours.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least eight to twelve years of related experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Active TS SCI security clearance
Basic SATCOM experience and Network Administration experience
Active 8570.1=M IAT II (or higher) Baseline Certification, such as: Security+ICE or higher
Active computing environment certification, such as: Server+, CCNA:R&S, Microsoft Windows Server Certification
Preferred Qualifications
TACLANE experience is a plus
Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $119,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
