Leidos Health Group has an opportunity for a cybersecurity functional expert in the domain of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). This individual will work with other talented cybersecurity professionals creating solutions for our newly stood up Data Loss Prevention Program supporting our Department of Veterans Affairs customer. This is an exciting opportunity to learn from and contribute to the world-class cybersecurity capabilities at Leidos as you work with the talented team of Leidos cybersecurity professionals. This position carries the additional satisfaction of serving our nation’s Veterans in safeguarding critical personal and institutional data.
This position is full-time and the holder will be 100% a remote telecommuter with minimal travel as necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
What will this position you to do?
Analyze the network impacts and vulnerabilities on VA protected data (PII, PHI, and VA corporate data) which can arise from security incidents and security events and their management inside the VA Enterprise, Federal Government repositories, and health information exchange networks with commercial and private health care providers. Develop solution requirements for identifying, labeling, and protecting protected data and for detecting and reporting data compromise. Develop and implement designs for exploring prototype solutions.
All work will be done in a collaborative environment that includes DLP program SMEs representing other cybersecurity technical domains and VA customer cybersecurity experts and engineers.
REQUIRED SKILLS
What you will need to succeed?
Master’s Degree concentrated in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline OR Bachelor’s Degree with documented Expert level industry certifications (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert, Cisco Certified Design Expert).
10 years’ experience in Cybersecurity Engineering
5 years’ experience in the roles of Architect or engineer in the course of the development, deployment, and administration of Data Loss Prevention solutions, to include Insider Threat Detection and Cross-Domain Solutions.
5 years of experience in designing and managing security solutions security incident and event management technologies.
Current Public Trust or DoD clearance

Current VA credentials and up-to-date VA Tier 4 / High background investigation
An understanding of sources and repositories of protected data in the VA Enterprise
Knowledge of commercial products and commercial solutions pertaining to data protection and cybersecurity for managing security incidents and security events.
Experience and knowledge using Microsoft 365 E5
Experience and knowledge using the GRC Risk Management Software Platform
Demonstrated experience with:
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security Rule
Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act
Privacy Act of 1974, and amendments
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines
Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)
Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Other laws and regulations pertaining to the protection of sensitive VA data.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.00 - $213,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
