The Leidos Innovation Center (LiNC) at Leidos currently has an opening for a Hardware/Simulation Engineer to work at our customer site on Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. We are seeking a dedicated, talented, and experienced individual to work as part of a leading-edge research and engineering, design and development team. Leidos seeks mission and team-oriented individuals who enjoy working as an individual contributor in highly collaborative and interdisciplinary teams.
Supporting the Adaptive Technologies for Force Readiness Program, the Hardware/Simulation Engineer will translate customer requirements into hardware solutions while operating in a flexible, research-focused environment. This position will rely heavily on experience with cloud computing, containers, and cyber security as it pertains to Live, Virtual and Constructive training environments.
You will work as part of an engineering team to develop creative and innovative solutions to support hardware development and testbed architecture activities.
Operate with a forward focusing mindset to keep infrastructure on the cutting edge of technology and capabilities.
Support innovative and original solutions to solving complex problems. AFRL Science & Technology missions require agile and flexible options to achieve mission success.
Own the development and build-up of engineering testbeds to support integrated training between multiple platforms, levels of security and testbeds.
Work closely with the Systems/Integration Engineer to create distributed network platform.
Support Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) and LVC training through the development of cloud-based computing, containerization, virtual machines and other similar resources.
Work closely with software developers to bring fully simulated training environments from the code baseline to end users and to improve applications and systems performances.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years' experience in Hardware/Simulation Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 5+ years related experience preferred.
Experience with Amazon Web Services, Azure, Kubernetes, or similar cloud native environments
Experience with containers, Docker, Podman, or similar containerization tools.
Experience with virtual machines and their application.
Experience with ESXi hypervisor and VMWare configuration, management, and administration in a dual Linux and Windows environment.
Experience with Puppet, Ansible, or other configuration management tools.
Experience with resource management.
Experience with understanding the limitations and constraints of cloud computing.
Self-motivated with ability to work independently under minimal direction as part of multi-functional engineering team.
Maintain outstanding written and oral communications skills, and good organizational skills.
Be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Secret DOD Security Clearance
Due to U.S Government contract requirements, MUST be a US Citizen. Non-citizens will NOT be considered.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
