The Leidos Innovation Center (LInC) Advanced Analytics team has an opening for a motivated System Engineer Intern, based out of our Arlington, VA office. This position offers a flexible hybrid onsite/remote work schedule.
The candidate will help design and improve a production system that includes a user interface for searching data and performing data analytics, a micro service architecture, and dozens of machine learning services. The candidate must have a passion for process improvement and be intellectually adaptive, inquisitive, good at expressing their needs, and self-managed when necessary. Selected candidates will work alongside software/system engineers and research/data scientists with expertise in multi-modal information retrieval, User Interface (UI) development, computer vision, metrics, information science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and autonomous systems.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Develop use cases and/or decompose requirements
Research and evaluate new technologies
Design and architect technical solutions in collaboration with teammates
Deliver SysML, UML, confluence, and other documentation to support feature designs
To be successful in this role you need these basic skills (required qualifications):
Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor degree in the field of System Engineering or related field
Experience with SysML or UML
Communicative with the ability to state their needs and be an active member of a team
Self-motivated and self-starter
US Citizenship required
Must have the ability of obtaining a Secret level DoD Security Clearance
Preferred qualifications
Experience with Agile or Lean Agile methodologies and principles
Experience with software development lifecycle and/or understanding of DevOps principles
Hands-on experience with Git
Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 - $79,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
