Description
Leidos is seeking an entry level Software Developer Intern to join our Future Flight Services Program (FFSP). This person will be a member of a dynamic team working on the development of software that improves air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS). Work could entail systems, software, integration and test engineering. Every day across the globe, 60 percent of the world’s commercial air traffic is monitored and controlled by air traffic control systems developed by Leidos. Leidos has become the world leader in air traffic control systems due to the reliability of powerful system sand accountability for on-time delivery and support. The new team member will join a team of experienced software engineers that support multiple programs. Successful candidates will have experience with and/or knowledge of C, C++, Java. Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system.
Primary Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining the FAA air traffic control software
Performing software development as needed for the system
Providing support needed for system engineering and test engineering
Deriving requirements to meet customer needs
Troubleshooting technical issues
Basic Qualification
Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience, and enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at the Junior/Senior level.
Enrolled and working towards a degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, SW Engineering, or related field at an accredited college/university.
Your GPA needs to be included on your application and resume.
Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
C/C++ and/or Java experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a or related field of study.
Excellent written/verbal skills with the ability to interpret and author well-formed documents.
Candidate must obtain a clearance, therefore US Citizenship is required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $36,400.00 - $65,800.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
