The Enterprise and Cyber Solutions (E&CS) Operation within Leidos’ Defense Group and its subsidiary, 1901 Group,  has an opening for a Senior DEVOPS Engineer supporting a cloud migration for the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center (AFLCMC)/Cryptologic & Cyber Systems Division (HNCD) Cyber Security & Defense (CS&D) IT Optimization project.  AFLCMC/HNCD CS&D has the initiative to optimize the Cyber Defense Analysis (CDA) and Air Force Defense (ACD) networks/Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) systems. This will be achieved by virtualizing both sets of tools onto a new technology stack at the 33d Cyber Operations Squadron (COS). Following the successful virtualization, these tool suites will be moved to a hybrid cloud-based system, using containerization techniques wherever feasible.  This position will support the migration to the hybrid cloud-based system

In this role, you will: 

  • Work with a team of highly skilled software developers, engineers and QA analysts responsible for delivering customized solutions.
  • Participate in design, development, testing, and release of key functionality for large scale custom software projects to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop core functionality for existing systems, create and execute unit tests, and assist with deployment of new software to the user community.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve software bugs utilizing approved procedures following software best practices.
  • Work prioritized tasks from implementation through test and deployment during each Agile Sprint period.
  • Collaborate with other software developers, QA analysts, operations staff, supervisors, and clients.
  • Provide team leads with technical expertise and level of effort of a task, updates, and risk management approaches to ensure development activities proceed as needed.
  • Build Infrastructure As Code (IaC) and utilize Cloud-native and shared services in an automated fashion.
  • Implement DevSecOps including auto-scaled architectures.
  • Use Modern coding principles, continuous integration pipelines, and automation-first implementations.
  • Working in an Agile process to plan your work into 2-week sprints and participate in daily scrum meetings.
  • Integrate with common services provided by the Government cloud broker.
  • Support the security accreditation process by implementing required security controls, completing STIG checklists, and addressing security scan findings.
  • Responsible for researching technical issues and provide a clear path to resolution.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline w/ 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree in a related discipline w/ 6+ years. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Able to obtain Interim DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must be proficient in in the practical application of scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Bash, etc., and familiarity with React, Angular JS, Node JS, Java EE, etc.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, AJAX, XHTML, SOAP
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases, database design data modeling and SQL,
  • Experienced in Agile and Scrum development methodologies and processes.
  • Previous experience with code reviews
  • Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices. 
  • Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking.
  • Must be capable of performing high quality work both independently, and with a team, in a fast-moving environment.
  • Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD Secret Security clearance.
  • Ability to interact positively, collaborate and communicate appropriately with team members.
  • Experienced in Cloud technology environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in complex application integration
  • Experience with UI/UX design involving technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript ES6, Redux, CSS, Material Design, WebSockets
  • Design and development of web services experience
  • Previous cross browser development experience
  • AWS or Azure certifications, Professional desired, or associates with experience additional experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.
  • Active/inactive DoD Secret Clearance.
     

Pay Range:

Pay Range $97,500.00 - $176,250.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
