The MVHS Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Specialty Consultant (Elder care, Work Life, Disability, Adoption) in support of military families to work remotely. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Military OneSource mission. The Military OneSource Program provides 24/7 support services for military members and their families, similar to a commercial employee assistance program (EAP). This program provides a broad array of information, resources, education, referrals, and counseling to about 4.7 million participants which includes military Service members, their families, and eligible civilians at locations worldwide. The Military OneSource program serves as a “one source” for resource and information encompassing a comprehensive support system.
The Specialty Consultant (Elder care, Work Life, Disability, Adoption) specializes in providing information and referrals on specialized DoD programs directly impacting military members and their families lives. They provide personalized, tailored assistance and referral services to program participants. This position provides expert consultation to address core areas to support Service members and their families to live their best MilLife. Consultation areas include ervices such as adoption, elder care, adult disability, and, work life for both Service members and spouses. Consultants may support the Military OneSource Wounded Warrior program based on qualifications and experience. Some evening and weekend appointments may be necessary to meet the needs of the military community.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provides information, education, training tools and resource assistance on elder care to assist the participant in overcoming elder care challenges and enhancing family well-being.
Provides support for adoption by providing knowledge, training, tools, and resources to assist the participants in their adoption journey.
Provides support for adults with disability and their immediate family members by providing participants knowledge, training, tools, and resources related to living with a disability and enhancing family well-being.
Provides specialty consultation services to eligible participants seeking to speak with an individual possessing the experience, knowledge, training, tools, and resources regarding work life.
Navigates resources, resolves complex concerns, assesses, and acts in crisis situations.
Documents cases according to program guidelines
Maintains internal and contractual training requirements.
Uses telephonic and video-based platforms to meet contract performance requirements.
May perform other duties and special projects, based on business need.
Specialty Consultant may be assigned to one or more specialty consultation programs based on their experience, expertise, education, and background.
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a behavioral health related field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling.
Expertise in one or more of the following is required:
Elder care (connecting the participant with services and support needed to take care of the older adult in his/her military family),
Work life (assisting participants with a wide range of daily living resources),
Disability (connecting Service members with information and resources related to adult disability care), and/or
Adoption (providing the participant’s family guidance and information needed to make the adoption and foster care process go more smoothly as well as provide ongoing support for the participant’s family).
Strong customer service skills, knowledge of call center operations, and knowledge and understanding of military life as well as ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, compassion, and respect for Service members and their families.
Ability to identify high risk cases, deescalate with professionalism, and make referrals as appropriate.
Knowledge of call center operations.
Proven proficiency in Microsoft based tools including Word, Outlook, Excel; web-based research; electronic documentation systems.
U.S. citizen and ability to speak fluent English.
Military spouse or former Service member is required for some consultation programs.
Ability to pass a criminal history and fingerprint background checks, and credential review/verification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluency in Spanish
Telehealth/telecounseling experience
Veteran/military retiree, wounded warrior, and/or military spouse
Experience working with and/or for military communities
Employee assistance program (EAP) experience
Pay Range:
Pay Range $54,600.00 - $98,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
