Description
The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Watch Staff Specialist in Atlanta, GA. This is an exciting opportunity to provide logistics and administrative support to assist in operating and maintaining the SNS national stockpiled inventory. In this mission, we assist in ensuring the SNS inventory is ready for deployment, providing the ability to respond 24 x 7 in an emergency. The successful candidate will serve as the initial point of contact between SNS, supported Centers, Institutes and Offices (CIOs), outside agencies, health officials, and the public, and liaison with other SNS Ops center operations (e.g., public response hotline, clinicians information line).
Primary Responsibilities
Review and document all calls and initiate appropriate reports and emails for review and approval by leadership.
Track and log all incoming calls, faxes, email to the OPS CTR REPORT mailbox using established logs and the SNS call log system.
Monitor all relevant electronic mailboxes and work with the appropriate personnel to follow up with required actions.
Monitor television news broadcasts and relay important stories and developments to the Planning and Information Coordinator or Duty Officer.
Become proficient in using the Ops Ctr application system to initiate alert and notification procedures when directed by the Ops Ctr Officer, and become proficient using remote devices to operate all system devices in the Ops Ctr.
Route important operational calls directly to other SNS staff and SNS leadership, as necessary.
Become knowledgeable about other programs and services within the SNS, and how to refer customers and others appropriately.
Basic Qualifications
Required to be on-call 24 hours/7 days a week. Must be able to respond to mission alerts within 15 minutes with a recall of 90 minutes to report to designated location. Must carry a cell phone at all times.
Must have the ability to work handle requests from multiple groups/organizations.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
2+ years of demonstrated experience in public health preparedness, emergency management, emergency medical services (EMS), military/police force, or other relevant experience.
Ability to prioritize tasks and scope with occasional periods of stress when dealing with critical situations.
Possess Excellent English language skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrates strong customer relations capabilities to achieve customer satisfaction with SNS services.
Experience working in a call center environment where teamwork was an essential element of service delivery.
Ability to consistently work some weekends on a rotating schedule. Day or night shifts are available.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience supporting a government agency.
Oracle knowledge is a plus.
Technically savvy.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $39,650.00 - $71,675.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
