Leidos is currently looking for an experienced systems engineer to support their Air Force customer by overseeing the execution of critical Counter-Small Unmanned Aerial Systems Cyber Security, Agile Software, Hardware, and Site Installation projects. In this role, you will work closely with solutions architects, systems engineers, software and hardware engineers, program managers, subcontractors, and customers to develop, deploy and optimize critical force protection systems. You will be responsible for providing expertise in technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, and verification and validation. You will evaluate alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. You will perform systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. This position may be filled remotely with travel to Hanscom Air Force Base and other sites as needed.

Your Main Mission:

The Technical Director will be responsible for providing advanced technical leadership across the system development lifecycle, specifically in system development, cybersecurity, systems engineering, integration, and test. Leads and manages works of other technical staff that has significant impact on project results/outputs:

  • Responsible for working across the organization with leadership and your teams to manage the development and release of Force Protection command and control capabilities

  • Lead the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field

  • Attend hardware and software design sessions and provide technical input considering program priorities and product roadmap

  • Assist customer in determining project activities and optimization of resources and features in order to plan for current and upcoming releases

  • Utilize communication skills to direct the skilled technical resources and report on the technical progress, issues, and problem areas, and communicate and coordinate the resolution of all project related problems to the appropriate Government lead

  • Assist and provide technical input/guidance to multiple contractor and subcontractor teams through to project completion

  • Lead task order review sessions with customer to discuss technical performance

What Sets You Apart:

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with 12+ years in software development, system engineering or related field, or MS degree with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI

  • Experience with holding technical sessions involving customer and other stake holders

  • Experience/knowledge of key Agile processes and techniques

  • Familiarity with MBSE approach and tools or experience with framework/approach similar to MBSE

  • Excellent managerial and leadership skills; Ability to work well with staff and subcontractors from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience

  • Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution

You Might Also Have:

  • CISSP certification

  • Working knowledge of USAF C5ISR systems including systems of systems, sensors and effectors

  • Previous experience managing complex System designs efforts/contracts employing networks, sensors and effectors

  • Experience with big data applications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline

  • Experience with Gitlab (workflow), JIRA, and Confluence

Clearance Required:

  • Possess an active DoD Secret level clearance at the time of consideration.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $118,300.00 - $213,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
