1901 Group (A Leidos Company) has an exciting Security Engineer position located in Blacksburg, VA with opportunities to work remotely. The Security Engineer will work with an elite team of IT professionals to maintain an optimal secure cloud architecture and environment for critical systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with a team of highly motivated engineers in designing, building, and deploying security capabilities for protecting cloud-based systems, networks, and information stores.
• Act as a Cloud technical cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) to meet current and future security design, and architecture requirements for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS implementations.
• Provide expertise regarding cloud providers’ capabilities, APIs, and shared security models.
• Work closely with engineering team members across infrastructure teams and outside vendors to ensure that features and capabilities are delivered on-schedule and operated according to corporate service level agreements.
• Work closely with the cloud management and platform security teams to improve existing solutions so they better meet the business’ needs.
• Work closely with the Cybersecurity Intelligence and Response Center to ensure the cloud security solutions are meeting the requirements for security event investigations.
• Participate in enterprise projects and advocate security, architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Support and develop automation projects and capabilities within the SOC.
• Develop documentation as in system design, concept of operations and architecture diagrams.
• Develop cloud security technical roadmaps to drive constant cyber transformation and improvements in the client’s defense posture.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field of Technology or Customer Services
• 4+ years of experience in an enterprise security or infrastructure engineering role
• Ability to provide coverage for core hours (8a to 6p) and occasional work on nights and weekends may be required during maintenance periods.
• May require some travel to customer sites, including overnight travel.
• Demonstrated experience deploying/operating cloud security enterprise technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with the capabilities and APIs of one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google). Strong emphasis on Azure IaaS and Azure security controls.
• Demonstrated experience managing identities between on-prem and cloud.
• Demonstrated experience managing, securing, and deploying Microsoft / Azure Business-to-Business (B2B) connections.
• Demonstrated experience managing, securing, and deploying Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) in Azure.
• Demonstrated experience managing, securing, and deploying Azure Management Groups, Resource Groups, Subscriptions, and other common Azure services.
• Experience with industry standard virtualized networking components (Cloud application firewalls, Cloud Services Routers, Cloud Gateways, etc.).
• Fundamental understanding of networks and network protocols, TCP/IP, and common application layer protocols, on premises and cloud.
• Foundational understanding of Cloud and off-premises security best practices.
• Experience with industry standard virtualized networking components (Cloud application firewalls, Cloud Services Routers, Cloud Gateways, etc.).
• Strong communication skills: person in this role must be able to successfully communicate with management personnel, technical personnel and third parties.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals certifications.
• Experience with scripting abilities in at least one Language (CloudFormation, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, etc.).
• US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and DoD environments
• Experience with ITIL processes and/or ITIL Foundation V3/4 certification.
• An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to drive innovation independently; have a passion to improve at every opportunity.
• Prior experience working in Agile Development
• Proven able to credibly coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Willing to perform shift work.
• Experience within common enterprise cloud architecture and offerings.
• Experience deploying or maintaining cloud access security broker (CASB) solutions.
• Experience designing and provisioning security architectures at enterprise scale.
• Experience authoring enterprise cloud security policies or establishing an enterprise cloud security strategy.
• Experience implementing multi-factor authentication for SaaS applications
• Experience obtaining and centralizing cloud audit data and associated capabilities
• Experience in programming and/or scripting desired
• Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• Experience with cloud IaaS solutions such as Microsoft Azure.
• Experience working with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), Department of Defense DFARS, US Federal FAR/ITAR and CMMC regulatory requirements.
• Experience with PKI.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
• Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience with common Customer Service Management (CSM) tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, SalesForce).
Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $176,250.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
