The Leidos Innovations Center (LInC) keeps our Department of Defense (DoD) customers at the leading edge of technology by designing, demonstrating, and deploying radar, communication, and electronic warfare solutions to solve complex adversary challenges. We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to work in our Beavercreek, Ohio office.
In the Electrical Engineer role, you will support and develop a wide range radar, communication, and electronic warfare (EW) projects. You will be provided opportunities to make a lasting impact and to grow and lead engineering efforts spanning complex radio frequency (RF) systems and subsystems. You will work closely with contractor and government scientists, engineers, and experts to understand and define key test requirements and objectives. The successful candidate will have hands on experience in RF technologies such as, radar, communication, and EW. Experience with test, evaluation, and integration practices is also welcomed.
Design, develop, update and/or improve systems using RF components (antennas, LNAs, RF Filters, mixers, modulators, combiners, etc.) and embedded processors (FPGAs)
Troubleshoot and repair issues during the test and integration activities using lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, vector network analyzers, etc.
Participate in RF test and evaluation (T&E) activities
Operate software defined radios (SDRs) and update functionality via software/firmware
Coordinate technical activities across a diverse team of test engineers and technicians
Utilize digital signal processing tools such as Python and MATLAB, etc.
Document test and design activities such as writing test reports, summarizing test results, and document test configurations and conditions
Conduct in-depth technical intra-company collaboration
Effectively communicate with external and internal stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree and 8+years of prior relevant experience
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication
Experience troubleshooting RF systems and operating RF lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal/waveform generator, spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer, etc.)
Experience designing RF systems and using RF components (filters, couplers, amplifiers, etc.)
Ability to work, collaborate, and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary engineering team
Demonstrated knowledge of communication, EW, radar, and/or ELINT/SIGINT theory
Some experience with signal processing techniques, RF lab verification, test and evaluation, and engineering analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python
Active Secret clearance with an ability to acquire a TS/SCI
Existing TS/SCI clearance
Signal processing and/or firmware experience
Anechoic chamber testing experience
RF system and/or antenna design experience
Open Mission System (OMS) / Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) experience
Hardware in the loop test experience
Experience with processing I/Q data
MS or PhD. in Engineering
Experience leading test and evaluation efforts
Experience with embedded systems (FPGAs, firmware/software)
Pay Range:Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
