Leidos Defense has a dynamic opportunity for a BMC Discovery Administrator, Sr. with an active TS/SCI clearance to work at our customer site at the National Maritime Intelligence Center, Suitland, MD. 

Become a member of the team leading the way with BMC Discovery and Remedy ITSM administration related support for elements within the National Maritime Intelligence Center and locations around the world. As a BMC Discovery Administrator, you’ll be working with a team of forward thinking, innovative, and highly motivated Remedy professionals dedicated to implementing and leveraging the latest capabilities of BMC Discovery and the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite. You will perform and oversee installations and any changes or upgrades to BMC Discovery and coordinate with local IT representatives to ensure all configuration items such as hardware, software, documentation and licenses are submitted to the local Configuration Manager (CM) according to the project schedule and in accordance with existing processes and procedures. What Will You Do 

  • Install, configure and administer BMC Discovery appliances and proxy/outpost servers in production and development environments.

  • Configure, implement, analyze, and report on BMC Discovery scans.

  • Perform BMC Discovery administration tasks such as user account administration, TKU and operating system updates, appliance backups, and maintaining proxy/outpost servers.

  • Routinely conduct daily proactive monitoring of space usage, deleting log files, and errors correcting impacting on BMC Discovery.

  • Fully integrate BMC Asset Management with BMC Discovery to maintain the currency and accuracy of the IT asset database with routine BMC Discovery scan results.

  • Design and implement business rules, workflows, and otherwise configure or modify BMC Discovery, Atrium CMDB, and Asset Management to meet Hopper mission requirements.

  • Support efforts in collaboration with other agency stakeholders to identify and work with the Hopper to enhance and maintain the existing BMC Discovery, Atrium CMDB, and Asset Management module.

  • Develop solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple area or disciplines utilizing the existing Remedy modules, including the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Service Level Management (SLM), and Service Request Management (SRM).

  • Possess an understanding from a leadership perspective of BMC Discovery administration and Remedy integration skills.

  • Track, prioritize, and implement enhancement requests and defect corrections, while leveraging formal Change Management processes.

  • Coordinate and perform application upgrades in partnership with vendors and internal colleagues and provide application testing for applications.

  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to other personnel.

  • Liaise and communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences (both contractor and federal government employees)

  • Maintain strong relationship with government customer.

Clearance Requirement (must have to be considered)

  • Current DoD Top Secret/SCI level of clearance

Your Areas of Knowledge & Expertise (job qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree with 11or more years of practical ITSM/BMC Discovery experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 3 or more years’ hands-on experience installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining BMC Discovery, Atrium CMDB, and Asset Management.

  • 3 or more years’ hands-on experience upgrading and deploying BMC Discovery.

  • In-depth knowledge of Helpdesk operations and fundamentals 

  • 3 years' administration experience with Windows Servers and/or Linux/CentOS administration. 

  • 2 years or more of BMC Smart Reporting and performance metrics or comparable reporting tools. 

  • 6 years or more of expert hands-on experience with the Remedy © ITSM Suite System Administration and development.

  • 3 years' of hands-on experience with Asset management, Service Request Management and Change Management. 

  • 3 years of experience supporting Remedy 20x or higher and implementing and administering Asset Management and BMC Discovery 

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

Current Certifications Required

  • CompTIA Security+ certification 

  • ITIL V4 Foundation certification


Pay Range:

Pay Range $118,300.00 - $213,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
