The Challenge:

  • Installs, configures, validates, and maintains operating system components and hardware; Maintains documentation of installations and modifications

  • Provides comprehensive maintenance including Lifecyle Replacement for PC computer workstations running Windows, Microsoft Office, and other various standard Navy applications

  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and instructs users on personal and network computers, personal devices, and peripherals (printers, scanners, smart card readers, etc.)

  • Uses available test equipment and diagnostic software to recognize, diagnose, and independently resolve common occurring computer hardware, software and peripheral devise issues; contacts vendors and hardware/software specialists when needed in support of resolution

  • Responsible for the set-up and diagnostics of issues related to IT equipment for meetings

  • Supports and coordinates special system requirements such as Video / Audio Teleconferencing, data acquisition, and devices isolated from Global Information Grid (GIG)

  • Works with other Tri-Service IT specialists to set up and maintain command IT equipment/accounts

  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure information system reliability and accessibility to prevent unauthorized access to systems, networks and data

  • Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs

  • Assess data management requirements and determine the most effective methods to enhance data management practices

  • Promotes awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are reflected in organization’s vision and goals

  • Ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools

  • Establishes, manages, and documents a user friendly and efficient process for customers to submit IT work requests

  • Present formal and informal training and assistance to customers on IT equipment and programs; Aids in the development of comprehensive instructions for the operation of system components.

  • Acts as Help Desk support for Command automated information system on two networks; diagnoses, troubleshoots, tests, maintains and repairs automated information system

  • Act as Help Desk POC to assess and provide technical support/assistance in resolving client IT issues

  • Prepares detailed and accurate reports related to IT requests/taskers received from the Command, Immediate Superior in Command, or Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.

  • Track and maintain inventory of all hardware and software resources and parts

What sets you apart:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or Cyber Security and 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 years of prior relevant experience

  • Experience supporting DoD IT environment and tasks is required

  • Meet DoD 8570 IAT-II requirements (Security+ certification and CE, plus training or certification in Windows10, the desktop operating system covers the OS requirement). This certification is required to be renewed every three years

  • Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment

  • Experience with windows desktops and notebooks in a networked environment

  • Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking, and related network services, and knowledge of Active Directory concepts and administration

  • Must be able to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical people

  • The candidate will be required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level and can be obtained after hire. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level

  • Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required

Pay Range:

Pay Range $54,600.00 - $98,700.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
