Leidos is looking for a high-performing and experienced executive assistant to provide direct support to the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Defense Programs, contributing to the successful execution of long term multi-billion dollar nuclear deterrence programs. If you’re looking to be involved in an exciting part of the United States’ deterrent, working directly for federal leadership, this role is for you. It’s busy, fast-paced, and in the middle of the action. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and coordinating both routine and exceptional deliverables for Federal leadership. This position requires demonstrated office management expertise, superior professional demeanor, and the ability to learn and accomplish a wide variety of day-to-day responsibilities.  Key attributes include initiative as well as critical thinking to identify and prioritize actions to assist the federal program managers.

This is a full-time position onsite at the DOE Headquarters Forrestal Building in Washington D.C. with a potential of 2 days of telework (after training).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • On behalf of the federal managers, operate as the primary point of contact for with all interfacing organizations and functions.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders in writing, on the phone, and in person to assist federal leadership in accomplishing critical program-related decisions.
  • Establish/maintain protocols and tools for effective management of documents and records.
  • Identify and prioritize actions to assist the federal program managers to be successful in achieving program goals.
  • Coordinate and manage activities including federal managers’ schedules; coordinate schedules, venues, and participants for monthly and quarterly program reviews.
  • Process and securely handle controlled and classified correspondence and documents.
  • Coordinate onboarding of federal and contractor staff.
  • Prepare and distribute office correspondence, briefings, weekly activity reports, visit requests and other office documents.
  • Manage basic budgeting documents.
  • Other duties as requested or identified.

Required Education, Experience & Other:

  • Active DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance.
  • High school diploma with 5+ years of demonstrated administrative management expertise.
  • Desire and ability to learn technical program information and management skills.
  • Skills in independently resolving issues in a manner that promotes program goals.
  • Demonstrated persistence in following through on action items and issues to full closure.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite with particular emphasis on word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in producing correspondence, briefings, and program plans for senior and executive managers.
  • Demonstrable capabilities to undertake the responsibilities listed in the description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Related experience in a government agency or military office.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
